I remember specifically seeing this picture, along with multiple stories about various dinosaurs, in a book in middle school (either that or sixth grade). I found this image a few months ago and recognized it from one particular book, but I can't for the life of me remember what the title was and it bums me out because I would like to read it again.

I've had a technical glitch with my laptop today where earlier I may have let my battery drain (I left the house and don't know if it was still on or not). Now, I've struggled to turn it back on the last two times it went to sleep. Plugged my cord into different outlets and took the connector out of the port seemed to be the trick. I'm not sure if that means I need a new battery or something else. It's an HP Pavilion and really only a year old.

New England fans. I don't mean homegrown fans from the area, I mean the obnoxious bandwagoners that jumped onto the boat just because they're winning. They're extremely obnoxious about winning and it gets super annoying having to hear them everywhere you go (especially up here in Bills territory, I got a jackass down the street who acts like this).

I only hope that New England fans can still appreciate going to super bowls. Not sure how you could after unlimited and expected success over and over.

I also hope that they can understand why no one wants them to win. Even if it's your favorite meal, eating it every day would be boring and you'd be tired of it. Stop pretending you have no idea why no one wants the Patriots to win again. Football is less interesting for it.

One of our editors was unable to save her work. The assistant editor for the show called me in to check on the problem. I said, "Hold on a minute, let me go check something out on the console management side." Ran back to my computer, made a change that could very well have enabled her to save her work, and returned to find that...

...while I was gone, they'd force quit the program, ensuring that the work disappeared.

It's like it's an alien concept to her that a man might care because he's a decent person and not a sociopath. It's like saying why should I care if a stranger gets hit by a car or mugged in front of me, they're a stranger and I don't know them. The way I can see why she would think that way is either she's sexist towards men or she has been assaulted and experienced the men in her life not give a damn.

Godzilla related, but I wasn’t really sure where to put this, but I think it fits here well.

I’ve ocassionally seen posts, on here, other comment sections of websites (YouTube, IGN sect...) that the Godzilla franchise is bankrupt and out of ideas because they keep having to reuse older monsters and bank on nostalgia.

While yes, clearly in many cases Toho wants to bank on nostalgia, and wants to use monsters that’ll make money, at the same time, most people won’t admit that while the monsters are the same the backstories and scenarios surrounding them are completely different. Sure yeah King Ghidorah is in GMK, but then again he’s gotten a radical new origin. Yeah, okay we have another Godzilla movie, but now he’s got different forms and new crazy powers. The point I’m trying to make is that using the same monsters over and over again doesn’t mean that there’s no new creativity in the franchise.

People waste so dang much paper. We have to print out a group of readings for English class and oof, it came out to five pages. Five pages! That could've been used for printing out something worthwhile that could've been used many times over until the paper fell apart.
And then you have junk mail. Now THERE'S a waste of paper.

^ Schools really are terrible things in that regard. Case in point: my little brother has a history test tomorrow. All of the terms he needs to know are clearly and conveniently laid out in his textbook, and could be easily studied from there. Instead, his teacher had every kid write out a study guide with each of the roughly twenty terms written on post-it notes that are in turn stuck to regular sheets of notebook paper. You're wasting a frigging phone book worth of paper for this assignment alone, and it's completely unnecessary!

And in other news, my job made me switch to the night shift, forcing me to suddenly become nocturnal. I've managed to function for three work nights so far, but now it's my first night off and I just have no idea what the fuck. I slept for nine hours today, but I still feel like I got dragged behind a train, and here I am looking at staying up all night and trying to do at night the things I normally do during the day/at least before bed.
