I'm sure it will be fantastic on account Geoff Johns is a fantastic writer, but the premise isn't really hooking my interest all that much. Cyborg? Lame.

AQUAMAN will be getting his own book again, and captain on this ship will be Geoff Johns.http://www.newsarama.com/comics/geoff-johns-aquaman-series-110326.html

Never been overly familiar with Aquaman, though I do like his arc in Brightest Day and Johns writing a Aquaman book will most assuredly bring more interest in him.

Someone is bound to bring this up but, do you think that there could ever be an Aquaman movie.

They'd really have to try with that one.

I know there is a script for a DTV animated movie, according DC Animated producer Bruce Timm. But so far the bloke has said there's no interest in the project as of yet. :( I think the powers that be at the WB/CW missed the boat when they axed the Aquaman series. (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GvmB8uCSRMQ) I mean think of it, "Baywatch with superpowers.", a project full of win if you ask me.

I thought Peter David had did quite a bit of good with Mr. Curry during his run on the book. I know some complained that Senor David's take on the character made him too much like Marvel's Sovereign of Seven Seas, Sub-Mariner. But I disagree. Sure he was bit meaner than his SuperFriends days, but he was hardly the quick tempered sea dweller with the "Imperious Rex" battle cry. Sure he did get a bit P.O.ed on occasion, but the man was a lot more cold blooded than Namor was about it. Namor woul come in screaming, while Aquamn would sneak up on his target ,and stab him with that spear-hand of his from behind. Also, combined with the beard ,and long hair, Orin had a rather cool swashbuckler look. The spear hand, I always said to me, superheroing is hard folks, don't expect to get through it unscathed. Especially as long as he's been through it. I was kind of hoping with the loss of his hand yet again at the blade of the Black Manta(this guy looses appendages like his last name was flippin' Skywalker), that we'd get that spear back. Plus, there's a generation of kids out there thanks to the animated Justice League/Justice League Unlimited that have gotten use to that look. Although, I have to say I also like for the most part the more adventuresome, Steve Reeves-type Aquaman featured on The Brave & The Bold. But I wish he was a little more brighter brainwise though.

Yeah, they green lit the film so now we're waiting to see how Green Lantern turns out. All I'm hoping for is something similar to 90's Aquaman which I REALLY wish they would put in trade already. I mean come, he's the badass Aquaman that gained some love from legendary writer Peter David and his BAness was been displayed on the justice league animated series.

So yeah... I'm stoke he's getting his own series again.

Geoff Johns gets a little more in depth with what he has in store with Arthur Curry with the following interview.

Sure.

If ANT-MAN of all characters is being eyed for a live action movie, I don't see why Aquaman wouldn't be. Actually, I think a Aquaman movie has alot more potential to be something special.

Catching up on GL, GLC, TT, LoSH and Adventure Comics.

I just cannot get into Brightest Day. I keep trying but I just dont care about the dead characters they brought back ...

Downside to DC's "Drawing the Line at $2.99" is that 1/3rd the comic is removed for 2nd stories and previews of the GL movie or other comics. Sure, the comics are $2.99 but youre getting LESS comic book.

So since Vertigo is owned by DC I'll ask here: Who's read Transmetropolitan?

Those who haven't why not?

Im not 100% sure when this came out, but Saga of the Swamp Thing HC by Alan Moore Vol. 4 came out. Brings together alot of storylines with Constantine, through COIE and into the ending of an arc with Light vs Darkness.

DC's magickal realms are extremely interesting. Makes you want to read Books of Magic again.

Big news today with the Man of Steel in a tale penned by David Goyer. Co-scripter for Chris Nolan's Bat films, and next year's SUPERMAN flick. A rather controversial change for Kal-El.http://www.comicsalliance.com/2011/04/27/superman-renounces-us-citizenship/ Thoughts on this ? :eh:

Yeah, I got that the day it came out. It was pretty awesome, though though the whole American Gothic story arc felt a little disunified. The final battle (or lack thereof) was intense, and actually kind of profound.

And as for Superman. . . can he renounce citizenship when technically he isn't a citizen, being born on another planet and all?

Superman I believe has forged adoption papers from Pa and Ma Kent. I believe he was also given American citizen status by JFK

Also, All-Star Superman = epic DC animated gold.

Yeah, All-Star Superman was the best animated DC movie yet.

Also, have you been keeping up with current DC? Because they just brought Swamp Thing back.

I too enjoyed All-Star Superman. Now I want to read the graphic novels.

Swamp Thing came back in, I think, the last issue of Brightest Day.
I was mentioned in the SciFi Japan article about the appearence of extras on the Godzilla vs. Megalon DVD.

Well, DC is rebooting their universe. On one hand, as a relatively new reader, I'm glad they're streamlining the whole universe, because continuity had become way too convoluted, IMHO. On the other hand, now? Really? So all those stories I just got into, especially Geoff John's years-long GL saga, they just don't count anymore?
