NEW GAPASHON SET ??!

Ive never actually seen a Bandai set released without the theme being in the media somewhere. Dragonball Z stuff was reissued with the anniversary and DB Kai. Since there's no new Godzilla yet I dont see why Bandai would produce this.

Also...Mechani-Kong and the Gargantuas, unless I'm mistaken, are terribly far-fetched. Why would they randomly be rolling out these figures for no reason when the Gargantuas haven't even seen a proper vinyl form from Bandai?

Neither have Ebirah, Kumonga, Miss Namikawa, Varan, and probably some others I'm forgetting, but they all got High Grade figures. Not that it proves this rumor true, but it's not like obscure (at least Bandai-wise) characters haven't seen gashapon form before. If you count candy toys, even more characters off the beaten path have been made.

Yeah, I mean we should take it for what it is: an unsubstantiated rumor, albeit one from a fellow collector who heard from someone he believes. There's not enough evidence to either believe or dismiss it at this point.

I am up in the air myself about the news. But the guy knew some people and dropped a few names. Based on that, I figured he knew some of the importers who usually get news before the rest of us.
HE seemed like he believed what he was saying. Like others I question how Kong and Mechanikong would be used due to licensing issues.
Now he also mentioned news about a NEW Godzilla films in the works and that's where I thought he was wrong about his info.

He owns a store in a very expensive area. It's not like he's some geek off the street. And like I said he knew some of the big time Asian importers. That's why I am stating that it is unconfirmed.

It may sound strange that this rumour includes Kong but 2012 is the 50th anniversary of KK vs. Godzilla.
I'm a bit surprised that the Japanese don't make much fuss about it, considering how succesfull the movie was.
