Because trashing Y-MSF is what are the cool kids are doin'.

And unlike SHMA, it apparently never gets old.

That is true. People complain about how a rock is useless well so is a $155 set of tanks, aircrafts and a red beam.

Now THAT Bandai is both old and sub-par. I could definitely see the Y-MSF being a better figure in that case. The prototype pieces I've seen look all right, but not enough to judge by.

Boom. Yes.

I love the Bandai King Caesar figures. I still need the repainted release and the 8" versions, but I dig the classic 6" I have in my lineup. He has a lot of character, but is a rather inaccurate, bulky sculpt with a very minimalistic paint job. From what I've seen of the Y-MSF sculpt so far, it should be an awesome addition to any collection. Caesar figures are scarce as it is.

Caesar... Seesar... Sheesa... I'm actually curious as to what everyone else "calls" him and/or spells it. I know there are several variations. I've always just spelled it Caesar, since that is how I pronounce it. Caesar is the official English title for Toho, I believe, but Seesar seems to be a very popular way of spelling it as well.

I spell it "Seesar", but I think Ceasar is proper.

This mini King Caesar is a lot better than Bandai's sculpt.
And while we are at it, this mini Kumonga is better than Y-MSF's version

That's Iwakura. Their sculpts generally beat the vinyl figures. Mave you seen their Anguirus, Gorosaurus and that figure they made of you? Gorgeous.

While he's about as minor a character as the Godzilla franchise can get, I actually wouldn't mind a real Oodako figure from Y-MSF, one with tentacles extended and moveable, maybe sized more like his War of the Gargantuas incarnation. One worthy of being displayed with other Bandai and Y-MSF figures. The current glob of plastic is beyond stupid, though.

I used to call him Seesar, but I say Caesar now. Unlike most of Toho's other 'official' renamings/retitlings, I didn't really put up too much of a fight with this one since it didn't change the way I said the name, lol.

Same here. I don't mind the Caesar version, its just one less name Toho has to copyright.

Well there yah'go! Thanks, gentlemen. Curiosity appeased!

I've begun selling some random things from around the house to make a bit of cash to start up a Y-MSF collection. Or I'll just spend the money on a Marusan Ebirah... been wanting one of those for a while. Either way, I'll be building up a collection of Y-MSF figures soon. We'll see how they stack up!

The High Grade King Seesar is perhaps Bandai's best figure of the character. I absolute cringed at the original 8" and 6" sculpts. Good thing I managed to sell mine. XD

"The flying Hedorah is delayed at least one or possibly two months. I was supposed to at have a test shot to show at G-fest this month, but that will not happen. There are 4 different companies involved with production and one of them has delayed work on any Y-MSF figures for at least a month. Also, I'm hoping for the Rodan (I belive it's 64) Christmas. That's the goal, but there has never been a set release date for any Y-MSF figures."~ Tony

Interesting. Thanks for the update.

I recently lost out on a Y-MSF Gabara, Manda, and Kumonga on eBay.They're just not worth $40-50 something dollars to me yet.

The Manda sculpt, however - the more I look at it, the more I appreciate the amount of detail in that unique figure.

I was considering bidding on Megalon, but fell asleep and missed the auction, but they really aren't. If you buy clear or GID figures. I'd recomend having Steve Ceragoli (if I am saying his name correctly) paint them. He is cheap on Y-MSF figures and if you're curious he did the KKE and KKVG anniversary sets.

I am going through a Showa Gamera phase so...

What would you all think if Y-MSF did Showa Gamera kaiju would you think it'd turn out good, bad, Y-MSF really shouldn't do Gamera kaiju and why do you think one of those options (because I already can name one person who'd say "Yeah! That'd be awesome I'd buy it!")

I for one think Y-MSF should do Barugon, Jiger and Zigra (in his swimming pose) because the Barugon by Bandai is just meh to me and Jiger is good, but I think it could be just a bit better and X-Plus Zigra is just a big pain in the ass to find. That and I think we could get some accessories like Viras's and Zigra's ship and then the gymnastics pole Gamera was swinging on then maybe we could even get that rock that blocks Zigra's paralysis beam, but now I am just being an ass.

What do you all think?

Well of course we'd need the rock that blocked Zigra! Everyone knows Y-MSF has the greatest rocks of all time :P
In all seriousness that would be pretty awesome. The Showa Gamera cast could always use more vinyl love.
