Still, I do wish they would give us more monsters like Varan and Biollante (rose form)...
They already did a Varan damn it.
And it was pretty awful
Yes... THAT figure was awful but they have shown another prototype for a figure based off of his appearance in Destroy All Monsters and it looks awesome. I'd rather get that figure.

Even though the one they already released is more accurate to the DAM appearance... A stiff immobile hunk of rubber.

I'd love to see the new Varan come out. If it was a cheaper one I'd buy two - one for pure display and one for the drawer. The old one was a tad disappointing figure, but at least I got it for a good price. Really want the Gorosaurus figure but just never have the money.
I used to be a lot more optimistic and outgoing, believe it or not. I used to actually be passionate about this stuff.

Here is the Varan prototype. It doesn't look like much but it is a huge improvement over the first figure they did.

I hope it does come out eventually. Varan is literally the only figure I need to complete my Showa collection. But because he only appeared in DAM for like 2 seconds I never really thought he counted. Still, it would be nice to have him. I'm happy YMSF has focused on the kaiju that normally don't get figures from other companies like Bandai. I'd love for them to bring out their planned Hedorah figure but I think I'm most excited bout Rose Biollante!

Well if they're showing the prototype, expect it out by 2025.

Shame the turn out rate is so slow. I'd kill for their Rodan 64, New Godzilla 62 mold, the Godzilla 89 mold just to name a few. A Manda with an atragon head would be cool too.

So far I have about 6 YMS-F figures. I have Kumonga, Megalon, two Manda figures (one of them I custom painted) and both a gray Mechani-Kong and black Gorosaurus that I got for free for participating at the costume parade at G-Fest.
Up from the depths
Thirty stories high
Breathing fire
His head in the sky
Godzilla!
Godzilla!
Godzilla!
And Godzookie....

Does anyone have a picture of the new Godzilla 1962 prototype?
This is the beginning of the end.

So these figures are worth the money? Better than the Bandai vinyls?

Better than the Bandai figures? No, absolutely not. YMSF's vinyl is very thin and the prices are extraordinary for the figures they sell. But, if you are interested in really completing your collection of monsters, they are not a bad purchase.

It's really up to you if you want to spend $60-80 on a figure of a relatively obscure monster. When it comes to their Godzillas, if you are willing to drop 100+ dollars on them, you may as well get the much much better Memorial Box vinyls.

Agreed. Y-MSF really is there for the obscure monsters Bandai refuses to release. I love their figures of Ebirah, Manda, Megalon, and others but their Godzilla figures are pretty weak. If you are wanting a good quality Godzilla figure, even if it's of a version that is hard to find, I say stick with the Bandai Memorial Box ones (even if you need to pay extra for them). I just might have to one day if NECA decides not to make anymore. I need my 1974 fig!!!
