Another Marmit question - are the Parababies still being made, or is it a now-defunct line?

According to Kaiju no Mura, they're still being produced. As to whether or not there are new ones (i.e. new sculpts) being made I don't think so.

The original molds used in the Para Babies are sometimes still rarely reissued. But the Para Babies Series name itself is no more. Middle sized Marmit figures are named Monster Heaven Baby series now.

^Have there been any releases in the Monster Heaven Baby series? I mean, original releases or have they only been re-packaged/painted PB molds?

Ah, I see. So IF an old Parababy mold were re-issued, it would differ from the original somehow, prob. a different datestamp on the bottom of the foot, and/or a different color scheme. AND the 'Parababy' name is no more. Got it.

All the ones I have seen have been reissued PB molds.

Yes, different color scheme. TM & Copyright on the foot when the mold were first release would remain the same even if it's a reissue. So for example if the Marmit Para Baby 1955 Goji has "TM & Copyright 1955, 2001" and was to be reissued in new colors out in 2012 under Monster Heaven Baby it would still say on the foot "1955, 2001."

They would never re-issue a PB mold in an exact same scheme that had been done before, would they?

^I've never seen it happen before. Even if they're very, very similar, there's some color difference between all the releases.

Next question KNM; do you have any pics or links to the header cards for the Monster Heaven Baby line? I've never seen any of them before and while you're at it, could you point out any of the molds that have been released it this line? I assume that the Fake Goji/Mecha-G that was released last year was one, but what other releases have they done? Apologies in advance if this is getting too off-topic, just seemed the most immediate place to ask.

The header cards are generally the same for the baby and standard size Monster Heaven series releases. It should be noted the Japanese on the Marmit front header card (the side with the image) actually say "Seiki no Daikaiju Shiriizu" which translates as "Century of Giant Monster Series." This is not the name of the actual line of the series from Marmit. "Seiki no Daikaiju" is written on other company header cards like M1GO, Bullmark, Marusan. This phrase was actually started by Marusan on their box packaging and header cards back in the 60s.

You can go to Marmit website and search their database for releases under the Monster Heaven Baby series. I've conviently screen capture and marked and translated what you need to look for while searching.

Pending confirmation of an order, I may have just knocked one off my "most wanted" list for Marmit Monster Heaven. It got me thinking that I should compile a list of the ones I want most and those for which I'd drop everything and buy buy buy!. Well, I mean, I want them all--LOL--but this is to narrow down the ones I like best.

Wanted! bold for ones I would buy immediately if at a reasonable price--meaning not what_a_day's prices. The others I'd definitely want but would have to consider the state of my bank account before buying. Bold means I wouldn't give it much thought and would recklessly throw my money at the seller.

Baragon
Godzilla '89
King Ghidorah (showa)
King Seesar - either variant

Biollante - the big one
Biollante rose stage - either variant
Biollante final - white/pearl vinyl with blue paint
Mothra - adult showa
Godzilla '99 - glittery blue version w/ metallic sprays
Gorosaurus

If I get the thing I ordered, I'll update. :]

MARMIT MONSTER HEAVEN #14: DESTROYER

I always loved the Bandai 8 inch Destroyer figure. However, one thing that always bothered me big time was that it was grossly out of scale with other figures of the 8 inch line. Destroyer was the same height as Space Godzilla...unlike that great Bandai figure, however, it was on the small side and shorter than all of the 8 inch burning Godzilla figures. When Marmit announced Destroyer as their next Monster Heaven line, it filled a much needed void as a figure to scale properly with all my 8-10 inch Godzilla figures.

Unlike its Bandai counterpart, size is no issue with this big fella...in fact, he's too big if anything, as you can see when comparing him side by side with the massive Giant Biollante figure.

Hopefully, Marmit will release a Destroyer Aggregrate or Flying stage to accompany it someday. Overall, a very impressive figure. Below are several variants released thus far:

There is another variant or two floating around, but can't find any photos at moment. Speaking of which, this is why I started this thread...to get people to start sharing new photos of these figures. It gets so frustrating whenever I do a google/bing "image" search for Marmit or Gigabrain figures, and 70-80% of the results that appear are my own collection photos :? We need more photos of these beautiful things out on the net...

Mark this beauty off my list.

Thrilled to be getting this after wanting and watching for it since I started collecting a year ago. And don't worry ebirahsmeg1--there will be pictures.

^I have the original mail-order PB version, but as far as I've seen, this one hasn't been re-issued in the new branding.

These photos were taken by me (I know it looks like stock photo from Marmit because I used black paper for the background).

1st version. Standard mail order released in June 2010.
Image

2nd version released for Super Festival 55 on January 9, 2011. The paint is acually gunmetal with light spray of metallic purple highlights on top.

Never bought the 3rd version.

For those that need to be "in scale" freaks. The Marmit Giant Monster Heaven Burning Godzilla released by Hyper Hobby does not fit in scale and is larger than the Destoroyah almost 2 inches.
