Not really.

If you look at the game company Retro Studios, who made the amazing Metroid Prime trilogy and Donkey Kong Country Returns, they are owned by Nintendo. Now, if you compare the game quality between what was developed by Retro Studios and that of which was made DIRECTLY by Nintendo, it really is different. Same can be said about ACTIVI$ION and Treyarch/Infinity Ward with Call of Duty. Bandai just owns the company.

Further more, that would be like saying don't credit, say, Green Day for making music that some people enjoy; credit Reprise Records.

Tamashii gets my vote. The company, and other lines made by them, have an AMAZING track record, and the outlook for the MonsterArts line looks great. I would, personally, rather save my money to buy a figure with an amazing sculpt and articulation instead of buying one (or multiple) figures that don't quite do it for me, or look great and... don't move.

Don't get me wrong, some Marmits and Gigabrains look fantastic, but getting to display some of my favorite monsters killing each other looking exactly like they did in their movie? Hubba hubba!

Exactly.

Thought I explained sufficiently. I made the distinction because Bandai is simply too large and diverse, catering to both the kids and the adults with two very different lines. Also, please quit with the " hypnotized" crap. You honestly need to get over it. No one is hypnotized. Some people are just looking for different things in their action figures that you are. Deal.

@Jomei- Yeah, I would've voted for Marmit if the Tamashii stuff didn't exist. Marmit just seems to have a lot more going for it than Bandai, both in style and selection.

Huh?... Oh.

One person on a different forum is spewing uncontrollable, unhealthy love for this line... Must be everyone!

So the most obvious way to deal with this is to seperate Bandai into "a line that's six months old and three figures deep" and "everything else". Yes, that makes perfect sense.

@Jomei- Yeah, I would've voted for Marmit if the Tamashii stuff didn't exist. Marmit just seems to have a lot more going for it than Bandai, both in style and selection.

Yeah, too bad it's a shame Marmit doesn't have 23336666 points of articulation.

Different people have different tastes.

I'd vote, but I don't have much other than Bandai's. :-(

^^What's your point? Other than to flame bait, that is. You might not feel there's a distinction but that doesn't mean its not true. In fact, you're the one constantly spewing the statement that Bandai vinyls are meant for kids. Moving on,

i don't particularly prefer any 1 line over the other right now. I enjoy and love the ones I collect.

That being said, I suppose over the 20 years I've been collecting...I'd have to say Bandai gets my vote. For the breadth of selection and versatility of their offerings. I do enjoy X-Plus, Marmit, Gigabrain, and Pilot Ace more than bandai currently.

I KNOW I'm not the only one who feels that taking 30 years of Bandai Godzilla merchandise and actually separating every single thing the company has ever done into two groups - MonsterArts and everything else - shows an INCREDIBLE bias towards the MA series, as if they're so amazing that they NEED to have their own category. They're obviously SO MUCH BETTER than everything else Bandai has EVER done with Godzilla that OF COURSE it's okay to pretend that Bandai/Tamashi is an ENTIRELY DIFFERENT COMPANY ENTIRELY. In that case, where's Kaiyodo/Revoltech? Where's Pilot Ace? Where's Popy?

All right. It's just that, you know, when I see a poll about favorite Godzilla manufacturer (with over 40 years of companies to choose from) and something like MonsterArts is getting a massive chunk of the votes, my gut instinct is basically, "....really? Really???"

But whatever. Cooling it.

^^Ten choices are allowed for a poll. Revoltech never did a Godzilla figure. Calling the Sci Fi Revoltech a Godzilla line would be incorrect. Most of the lines I put are currently putting out figures. These questions you ask shouldn't be too hard to figure out.

Get over it.

I don't get it either. No M1 votes? Only two for Marmit while MonsterArts has gotten Tamashii six?

I honestly don't think some of them know what they're missing out on, but to each their own.

Dude, just get over it! Marmits aren't accurate and can't do the splits. We know that MA is the best ever based on three figures. Come on, man!

Lol. So anyways I felt like Bullmark was the most iconic vintage line so I included it.

@Jomei- Some people don't like stylized figures. M1 is probably my least favorite from that bracket.

I just vote with my wallet.

Gigabrain is getting a lot of my money this month. X-Plus a fair amount due to Rodan. And some bandai figures I've been looking for for over a decade. also bought 2 pilot ace.

I have a space g monsterarts on the way, but I'll probably sell that.

I like marmits a lot because of the colors and I just really like the g2k mold. Gigabrains are pretty nice too.
I really love Tamashii figures, but not a big fan of monsterarts because none of the current monsters/godzilla suits for it interest me.

M1 and Marmit figures look amazing, but I don't think most people own them - they vote for what they know. Obviously, the real hardcore or what have you collectors have them, but I don't think it'd be fair for me to vote for Marmit just 'cuz it looks purdy if I don't actually own one.

Of course, I'm not voting because I've only ever dabbled in Bandai and TM.

I don't need to hold one. I don't particularly care for the style. The one figure I'd actually buy from them is the Last Dinosaur.
