I’m new here obviously and I don’t mean to step out of line, but I don’t really understand the locking of that thread. If individuals were “acting up”, why not punish the individuals? I signed up here exclusively to discuss MonsterArts, and it looks like you’ve got a fine community here, so it seems silly to punish people that simply want to discuss the exact thing that the forum is for.

A number of individuals have consistently caused shitstorms in that thread while staying just within the rules. The lock wasn't my action, but we are working on a more permanent solution that hopefully involves re-opening that thread.

In the meantime, why not allow us this workaround? I don’t see any shitstorms in this thread.

Other mods have made it clear that we are not to have a replacement thread just yet. I'm not going to undermine that decision until we have discussed it.
Now it's dark...

So...is it really fair to tell, say, Antovald to not talk about SHMA because it would be breaking the "time-out" even though he had nothing to do with it and is not one of the people in "time-out"?

I understand why you guys lock threads from time to time, but lately they've been locked for a lot longer than they should be. How long has the Whine Thread been locked, even though it wasn't supposed to be permanent? And the MA thread has been locked for over a week now, so what gives? Of course conversation on the only real Godzilla product being currently released is going to bleed out to other topics eventually...I don't think that's anybody getting out of line or breaking any rules, that's just people trying to talk, which is what this forum is for.

It would probably be in everybody's best interest if individuals were punished and not the entire forum, but that's just my $.02.

I don't understand why anyone would ever think arguing about Monsterarts enough to get a thread locked and discussion about them banned from the forum for a certain amount of time is worth their effort, but I'm new here and never had a reason to post in that thread until I had the question about my Mechagodzilla's leg joints. Oh well. Thanks for the info RedZillaKing.

The voting over at f-book has tapered off to a trickle. Looks like, for all intents, the Bluefin/Tamashii poll is pretty much done.

Mothra & Battra garnered 53 & 45 votes, respectively. I mention this cuz' Bluefin seems to be dropping a Mothra 'hint' over on facebook. And where Mothra goes, Battra usually follows...................

First of all, hello everyone! I've been reading the board for a while now, and I'm happy to finally join!

Assuming that it is not too late, I'd like to add my dream figure for this line to the discussion. I was very surprised (and very happy!) to see the 'Syberspace' super hero Gridman/Servo make it into this line; he was a childhood hero of mine, and the star of the very first Tokusatsu show I ever saw. It's great to see him again after all these years.

But, every hero needs a villain right? Servo had a gorgeous rogues gallery of kaiju, and I'd love to see each and every one of them as a beautiful fully articulated figure. Of course, that probably isn't going to happen, but if I had to choose only one kaiju from the series, it would hands down be the Flame Kaijū Flamelar, aka the Megavirus Monster Plexton:

Plexton is actually my favourite kaiju. The design is sleek and inspired, menacing yet teeming with personality, and it's just a wonderfully executed suit all around. More than that though, Plexton was a persistent and reoccurring villain, never letting getting sliced in two keep him down (like any good kaiju!). His last appearance had him remade into a cyborg due to his many battles. That's the kind of monster you have to respect.

Anyway, I think he'd be a good fit for Gridman. He's one of the more popular kaiju from the series, being featured on many different media, and I think he might even draw outside interest from fans not familiar with the series (he certainly did for me when I was a kid.) Maybe I'm just dreaming, but I'd love to see it.
