I like it, much better than the art in either of the ongoing series IMO.

On a side note, would anyone like to see a Godzilla original graphic novel? (think 300)

Yeah, how was that any worse than some of the stuff we've seen from IDW?

I wrote that test script for IDW as a way for editorial to review art submissions. Toho was not involved.

Haha. I'm sure that he can take the abuse. :)

Sorry if I came off a bit snarky in the previous response, too. Just read that again and it wasn't meant to be that way.

I should probably go ahead, script a mini and send it to IDW, I have lots of crazy over the top Godzilla ideas that cannot be translated into movies.

Got issue 3. I personally love it, though Battra just seemed so... Weak. Other than that, I have no problem. Loving how Rodan harks the Showa design here. :)

OF COURSE

I've been kicking ideas around for this concept for a while. Had a redesigned Godzilla in mind, but then I realized how restrictive/conservative Toho is in regards to kaiju design. The big bad of the novel would have been Mecha King Ghidorah. In terms of character, my Godzilla would have been more heroic than he has been in IDW's other stuff.

Off topic, if IDW got rights to Zone Fighter, what are some things you could imagine them doing with him?

I liked the issue too. Seemed too short though--maybe that's a good sign, left me wanting more. As for Battra, I don't think he was portrayed as weak, just that he wasn't portrayed much at all! I'm sure if it were a full action scene, instead of just the montage-like capture, then we would have seen a fiercer encounter. Battra got a lot of good "screen time" in KOM, especially once Ciaramella took over, I suspect if we see more of him here it will be more along those lines.

Is it ok to talk about what kind of mini's we would like to see IDW do, or do we need to make a new thread? Just asking.

I've read Half Century War #1. While the writing was a bit sub-par sometimes, it featured the best drawn Godzilla I have ever seen in a comic.

I can't believe it. My old comic shop from my middle school has returned! *is soo happy* I went in there and got Bleach 30 and asked him 'Where is your Godzilla?' He looked around and no issue 3 but! He had this:

Not sure if you guys have it but my old comic shop said he just got it in today. He's holding it for me and is gonna order Godzilla #3. I aint going all the way up in town to the other comic shop again lol. I'm sticking to my old comic shop. I'm glad he's back. He called me 'Godzilla girl' XD

I noticed something in issue 3. When MKC used the kevlar net on Battra it paralyzed her, because in the movie Godzilla vs Mothra(original) the army did the same thing to godzilla, and he couldn't break free or use his beam either. Oh! And the army almost KILLED GODZILLA in that movie.

No the army didn't get close to killing Godzilla at all and Batrra is a he unless they changed for this series.

The reviews on the main site keep calling Battra a she.

Also, what was the Anti-Megalosaurus whatever in the Kiryu movies supposed to mean? It's being used in Half Century War.
