Other than handful of posts, the silence pretty much says it all. It's an improvement over KOM...and that's just not saying much. Art is a *HUGE* improvement, but the "bounty hunter" angle has been pretty "ho hum" as I and others predicted. It's definitely not terrible, but it's also not too memorable and rather boring...but it's still early, so we shall see....how about giving Godzilla (and the rest of kaiju) a damn personality for a change? :?: :?: :!: :!:  :g2k: :godzilla: ) That might help.

Instead, most fans are waiting for Godzilla: Half Century War (which comes out August 8th....in less than 2 WEEKS! )

Mmm....Don't really see it.

The silence can be an indicator of multiple things. For example, I didn't bother to make any post about any of the issues thus far, but I still greatly enjoyed them. Plus I'm mostly busy and deal with other things in life than to come on the board and post about my thoughts on the comics themselves. Obviously, that can be one of the indicators. And of course, the other indicators would be that those aren't really into (Mostly at CT) the monster bounty hunter angle. And then there's the other indicator that fans do enjoy it but just aren't going to voice about it completely. Why? Who knows, they probably have better things to do.

Seemingly so, IDW is working a story that works with the monsters and around them. (Something that might come back to bite them if the series doesn't completely deliver) Godzilla and kaiju co, who knows, they might be given personality. Maybe hints of it since they still have to work on the Monster Kill Crew themselves. But if this is their complete direction, then we'll just have to wait and see if it'll be satisfying enough in the end. Its pretty memorable thus far, at least the crew and events taken place for me personally. HOWEVER! I am still waiting for some kaiju vs kaiju brawling...Seems that we might get that with Rodan vs. Titano. Don't know how Mothra will play into all of this, or when Kiryu will come into play. But hopefully they'll bring great action to this on-going.

Does anyone know if Godzilla: Half Century War is going to be getting alternative covers (not counting B&W variants)? Or just Stokoe's covers?

Yep, there is supposed to be one variant cover by Frank Teran. I'm not familiar with his work, but you can check out some of his other stuff on his site, http://frankteran.pixpasites.com/

That looks IDENTICAL to the test that Jeff Zornow did a while back. Same concept, different artist.

^ That's what I was thinking. But then again, I do think it's Toho that sends over a test script for the artist to unleash their fury on... Could be just me, though.

That's called "art", Chris. People draw it to express feelings or piss people off with crappily made redesigns.

I like it, much better than the art in either of the ongoing series IMO.

On a side note, would anyone like to see a Godzilla original graphic novel? (think 300)

I wrote that test script for IDW as a way for editorial to review art submissions. Toho was not involved.

Haha. I'm sure that he can take the abuse. :)

Sorry if I came off a bit snarky in the previous response, too. Just read that again and it wasn't meant to be that way.
