Thanks for the insight, Matt. Good point about the closure to the Anders sub-plot. And I didn't so much mean that I didn't like it as much as I was pointing to how most people knock on the ending to Legends #2 or KOM #12 while ignoring the same faults they point out that are in Legends #1 or Legends #3.

In all honesty, Mr. Frank, I've truly appreciated the work that you and the rest of the people at IDW have done. I don't want that to be construed as fan-wank; it's a sincere thank you. Keep up the good work, I can't wait to see where you're going to take your work.

That's appreciated, as is criticism - I'm taking major strides to try and improve my human characters with any and every opportunity. I literally fought for days to try and get Boxer (on the cover of issue 2) to an acceptable level, and even now I'm not 100% satisfied.
In all honesty, the ending of issue 2 is actually one of my favorite parts. It's so batshit and yet so tragic. I actually LIKED that this douchebag dad now has to wallow in eternal sorrow XD

I'm actually incredibly psyched about Duane writing this. Been a fan of his since his Moon Knight issue and Birds of Prey is easily the best female cape comic on the stands right now. No offense to any of the previous writers, but this is a guy I trust at this point.

Keep at it Matt. I don't think you're human characters look bad and I like that you have a follow through to your whole style; E.G., it's easy to look at the monsters AND the humans and tell that they're drawn by the same artist. It's like how some artists backgrounds don't jibe with the characters stylistically. Yours do look great in that way, just a bit stiff and samey. Taking into account the evolution I've seen, you're well on your way to overcoming those issues, so no worries. Your character work in Legends was leagues ahead of the shorts you did in G-Fan. Hell, at this point I think you've done a better job meshing the American/Manga look than, say, Pat Lee, so kudos.

I really, really don't want to wait a month for any new issues. I've been really spoiled so far...

Although, it wasn't like there was suddenly the Staypuft Marshmallow Man. THAT would have been left field

OT: It almost happened http://giantmonstersattack.blogspot.com/2008/09/movie-monster-game.html

Back on Topic- I cant wait for this new series to kick off, and for any other mini series set for later in 2012.
There has never been a "Scientifically Accurate" Dinosaur portrayed on any Television Show, Movie, or Documentary. Only what the human imagination can conceive, and I'm ok with that.

No, please no. I DO NOT want to see Godzilla dirtied by that topic.

It wasn't like they made a big deal out of it. The character's gay. They weren't making a statement. This is about ten times less controversial/possibly offensive than much of the material dished out in Kingdom of Monsters.

Beat me to the punch! Honestly there isn't any social issue being directed or stated at the reader. There's a homosexual marriage being taken place and it was crashed by a monster. Where's the deal in that? Honestly some fans tend to overrate at things so minor that I can't help but shake my head in disappointment.

Considering how elementary school the response was to a Lady Gaga caricature being combined with Godzilla, I'm not in the least bit surprised.

I'm sorry if I come across as extreme, but I don't want to see this stuff at ALL. It really annoyed me to see it brought up in Doctor Who, and seeing it in my most favorite franchise -- even if only briefly -- is very off-putting.

Why do I have a feeling that some fans will be nitpicky that the main character is a homosexual.

Beyond the elephant in the room I must say that story thus far has already gotten me interested within this series, and the art is much better than KOM, great to see the quality shine. :)

But it's entirely inconsequential; it's nothing. It's there because there are such things as gay Mexicans who frequently partake in gay Mexican weddings. It's not making any statements, it's just an action set piece. There is nothing to get remotely bothered by in any capacity.

Godzilla can't exist in a vacuum completely free of any grounding to the real world; that's how a franchise withers and dies. That barely even applies because this isn't anything in any way.

Because Rody and some of the fans on the Matt Frank link already are. The fact is, gay people exist. Just like people of different ethnicities, you are bound to meet homosexuals as you go through life. Regardless of what you think of their lifestyle, the fact of the matter is they exist. For those of you that are bothered by it, simply view it as a character trait. The comic isn't trying to be gay propaganda.

I don't think he is (And TV just cleared it up for those confused). Still I have to give the guy props for thinking in the heat of madness and mayhem. Sure he didn't kill Kumonga or injure the monster, but at least he thought it out more clearly then the dad in KOM #2.
