Oh the Monster Hunters do 'battle' (in the lightest sense of the word) Battra, but it isn't a focus at all.

A new monster!!! (thanks to the IDW Forums!)

User antovald20 asked:
Are you guys gonna reveal the new monsters in the book's, or are you going to announce them here???

And Bobby answered...
A little of both I suppose. Why not share one now?

I would assume that they're going to use Heisei, given that it was actually in a Godzilla movie.

I don't know if we can do anything with the animated series. Probably not. Definitely no plans to.

That's what he said at the IDW forums.

I'm a little worried that issue 3 won't hit the right chord with Godzilla fans. Anyone else feel this way?

Not really,

Godzilla # 3 Preview is up:
http://www.ign.com/articles/2012/07/23/ ... ll+News%29

Anguirus is being dealt nicely with executed strategy, something that was absent within Kingdom of Monsters.
I think issue 4 and 5 will decide if this series is worth continuing.

I think I'll go down to my comic book store this friday and pick up this issue. Looks pretty good thus far, and hopefully it'll be awesome along the next issues.

I personally have really enjoyed this series. Simon Gane is doing a wonderful job on the interiors, albeit his human characters need just a tad bit of touching up, his Kaiju, though, are fantastic. I like that he chose to use the showa era Anguirus in issue number 2 and he executed his design perfectly. By the way, I love that Anguirus is making a come back into the media through IDW. Issue 3 looks pretty promising, considering that Gane has been consistent in his plot as well as his panels. This series looks like it is going to be much more successful than Kingdom of Monsters by a long shot. The covers are phenomenal as well! Matt Frank has done a fantastic job on the regular covers (from the covers I have seen and the leaks that I have also seen, his covers are a must-have for all his followers). His best so far has to be the issue 4 cover. Jeff Zornow is also doing a great job on the variant covers followed by Zach Howard who is a great artist. I look forward to picking up issue 3 on Friday :).

Of course people aren't going to like it for a wide range of reasons, though I can't help but agree that this is going to be a fun story to play on.
