Have you guys ever had any issues with displaying him? I only ask because mine has this bad habit of falling under its own weight. The right wing, which is one of its balance points bends under the weight causing the figure to fall forward. Mine was displayed over one of my cabinets in my room and it fell onto the floor. Fortunately there wasn't any damage to the figure, and only a few minor scratches in the paint on its back (the figure fell forward and flipped on its back before landing on the floor), nothing highly noticeable. This design flaw kind of makes me REGRET buying Rodan now, because it's hard for me to display him without knowing that it's going to keep falling on its own weight.

For those who have this issue, or had an issue like this, how can I fix this?
At this moment, I feel as if I flushed $240 down the toilet with this figure...

Perhaps when I return home to Guam, I'll display Rodan behind my two 25cm figures, Gigan and MechaGodzilla '74. Hopefully by doing that, if Rodan tips forward again, the two figures will catch it and prevent it from falling all the way. Still, I'm upset at this flaw...

I've got mine posed with the X-Plus Minya and Godzilla '68 from the same line, and they help 'support' him. Yes it is a pain to keep standing, but, so far its worked.

Use a putty on his feet. I bought some from Home Depot, it's used for knick-knacks and it doesn't harm the figures. It can be rolled off very easily. I used it for action figures though, not sure if it'll be strong enough to prevent an X-Plus from taking a dive. Still, it's worth a try. The stuff I bought was called Ticky Tack I believe and it was yellow. Failing that, try a hobby store and ask for museum putty.

Well, there aren't any hobby stores on Guam, but at least we have ONE Home Depot. When I get home in August, I'll take a look there for some Ticky Tack too. If you say it doesn't harm the figures, then it's worth a shot. :huge:

This was my first reaction, too. Overall the figure looks very nice--and it might just be dirt/faded film--but this figure looks much brighter, especially that mustard yellow, than the monster in film.

I got some flack for saying so on another discussion board, so I was waiting to see if anyone else thought the same thing before I mentioned it here.

And this looks awesome.

I feel the fins are too bright of a yellow. The body coloring looks fine. The yellow stripes across the eyes sort of bug me too, but I'll still be buying one. lol

The fins don't bug me as much, but you're right, the ratio of red to yellow is a bit off. Minor point there IMO.

Damn, just looked at The Bandai and it is there too. Just not quite as bright and mustardy.

You'd think the children's toy would be the one with the brighter colors.

I want this, but I don't think the price of the 30cm version is really in my price range right now. Too bad this isn't in the 25cm scale.

Hmmm... The antennae and yellow don't look half bad on the French's mustard special edition.

From what we've seen from X-Plus so far, in comparison, the colors are a little more robust than their other offerings. I wonder if this will be a trend. In their blog they comment on how the colors are exact.
I still think the figure looks good, especially in comparison to my Bandai Toy Dreams Titanosaurus.

^ The Toy's Dream Project Titanosaurus is neat, but I do agree, the X-Plus 30cm looks somewhat better. I'm getting used to the mustard-yellow coloring despite my earlier mixed feelings about it. I'll have to see it in person to give a definite judgement though.

I might buy something like a: Tokyo Tower, that temple (don't know name of it) Kong and Godzilla fight over, an Atragon, etc.

Brad your stealing my ideas! A month ago I went on about how they should include a significant item with each figure and offer them separately.
Gee wiz. Though I'm glad to hear that another is thinking the same thing.
Accessories would make their 25 and 30cm lines of figures one for the ages. No other line could compete.
Y-MSF is making the building ;) that G and Kong fought around.

BTW Hobbie Search just sent me an email that they shipped 89 G.

Ah, I guess I had that tucked away in my subconscious. Sorry about that. I did see Y-MSF's offer, which gave me the idea of asking about it here. Would be neat but do I really need to collect something else of X-Plus'? lol

There's no comparison. The Toy Dreams is maybe the opposite, in the sense that it is a tad too dark and muddy. It also is different in that it doesn't have the yellow stripes on its face and obviously lacks the texture detail. Also the shape of face in the X-Plus is very accurate, where's the Badais look are too thick and remind me a little af the Final Wars Anguirus face.

True, though I wasn't making any comparison between the two. I was just stating that the Toy's Dream Project figure is neat for what it is, an exclusive.

I think the thickness that you mentioned regarding the Bandai figure's face is partially due to the fact that the teeth are not individually sculpted and bits of vinyl fill the gaps, which give it that thickness.

So that likeness may span over more figures due to their size and lack of detail... I can see that.

the bandai has fairly huge antennae too. Not saying they should be held to the same standard but...
I personally love the paint scheme, Titano is really gonna pop compared to the other 30cms ive got.

can anyone post the x-plus email? or point me to it on their site. I am gonna send a message about correcting the antennae...at least ill know i tried to make a difference!

In the Pre Releases section of their site, X-Plus just listed 68 Anguirus and Godzilla, non 30cm. Guessing its 25cm versions. They are also re-releasing the '61 Mothra larva with LEDs it says, so I'm assuming with light up eyes (100 pieces).
Welcome news.

Wait.... does that mean it's a brand new, smaller scale Anguirus?
