Though it is early 1970's color television accurate. See how the color bleeds like it did on the early color television sets. Looks just like I remember watching it as a kid on TV.

So, it's in "Technicolor". :)

That looks like the color scheme for one of the movie posters. God I hope that's NOT the case. I know they pulled that poster color thing with the Gulala figures a few years back.

I have no problem with the sculpt, but the colors... yikes.

It just doesn't blend well. If I were to get this figure - which I'm not - I'd rather have film accurate colors than a 'TV Screen' inspired color scheme. Essentially the bland green and brown colors is just a downright eyesore.

UPDATE -
The X-Plus 30cm Godzilla 1989 is now in stock, albeit sold out at Hobby Search. http://www.1999.co.jp/eng/10184332

Just got my payment notice from Hobby Search earlier, so I can hopefully assume it'll be shipped today, or within the next few days.

Titanosaurus exclusive will be the submarine, Akatsuki.

Daimajin exclusive will be a chain he carries in his right hand.

I was charged around $244 for mine.
Shipping for these X-Plus figures is a big SKREEONK pain in the butt!
But hell, I love these things.

I'm just curious if X-Plus made accessories if people think they would sell well? For instance, buildings, planes, tanks, etc. in scale with the 25cm or 30cm line of figures. If so, what price point would you be willing to purchase them at.

I might buy something like a: Tokyo Tower, that temple (don't know name of it) Kong and Godzilla fight over, an Atragon, etc.

Argh, Hobby Search still has not shipped out my 30cm Godzilla 1989 yet. Had to send them an email asking them what's up.
Out of curiosity, has anyone else's shipped?

Brad your stealing my ideas! A month ago I went on about how they should include a significant item with each figure and offer them separately.
Gee wiz. Though I'm glad to hear that another is thinking the same thing.
Accessories would make their 25 and 30cm lines of figures one for the ages. No other line could compete.
Y-MSF is making the building ;) that G and Kong fought around.

BTW Hobbie Search just sent me an email that they shipped 89 G.

^ I'm just hoping mine ships at least tomorrow. I gotta get it in before I begin packing out in the next several weeks! :freak:
If it ships this week, I can assume that I'll be getting mine around the 18th.

painted pics of Titano up at Xplus site (beat you to one for once Brad!)

The hideous antennae are still there...but ill be darned if they arent slightly easier to swallow now that ive seen a painted version. I love it. Discuss.

P.S. Maybe we should be bombing X-Plus's inbox with complaints? Remember they delayed the initial 25cm GMK zilla because of a qc issue, and they always state that the prototype is subject to change before final products are struck and shipped. Why not right? I think if we get those antennae to half their current size we have a world class figure here!

Here's the link above.

I am thinking that Titanosaurus will be the last figure that I'll be buying from the 30cm line, until King Ghidorah is announced that is. I think the paint job is ok, though the parts in yellow could be less obvious. The antenna still look horrid, and coloring them white didn't help mask their inconsistency with the design. I wish they were a tad thinner, and got rid of the pointless spiral design. Nonetheless, Titanosaurus would indeed be the one to spice up my growing X-Plus collection.

I think Baragon and Gorosaurus are cool B cast monsters, but Titanosaurus is probably gonna fall into the category of not necessary for me to own. If it goes on clearance, I'll think about it. I'm not sold on it.
Detail looks good, including the antenna, I dunno.

I understand that.

I bought Titanosaurus because he's one of my favorite kaiju, and I wanted him. Sure I have the 6" Bandai version, but I want a figure that takes advantage of its scale, and is a noticeable piece when someone looks at my collection. The X-Plus Titanosaurus will certainly succeed at that. However, I think I'll be done with the 30cm line after Titanosaurus for now.

For those who own the 30cm Rodan 1964, I have a question.

Have you guys ever had any issues with displaying him? I only ask because mine has this bad habit of falling under its own weight. The right wing, which is one of its balance points bends under the weight causing the figure to fall forward. Mine was displayed over one of my cabinets in my room and it fell onto the floor. Fortunately there wasn't any damage to the figure, and only a few minor scratches in the paint on its back (the figure fell forward and flipped on its back before landing on the floor), nothing highly noticeable. This design flaw kind of makes me REGRET buying Rodan now, because it's hard for me to display him without knowing that it's going to keep falling on its own weight.

For those who have this issue, or had an issue like this, how can I fix this?
At this moment, I feel as if I flushed $240 down the toilet with this figure...

Perhaps when I return home to Guam, I'll display Rodan behind my two 25cm figures, Gigan and MechaGodzilla '74. Hopefully by doing that, if Rodan tips forward again, the two figures will catch it and prevent it from falling all the way. Still, I'm upset at this flaw...

Wow, so much for the paint job improving this figure. :?

Sorry, but this is one very lackluster Titanosaurus figure. If the price was the same as a normal Bandai/Marmit, then maybe this *might* pass as tolerable (I still think both the Bandai and Marmit's MH figure blows this away), but for the high cost, this kind of subpar figure is simply unacceptable for a line supposedly touted for it's "realistic/accurate" figures at premium prices.

Now, onto another completely different topic regarding Xplus.....GAMERA.

I recently bought a new Marmit MH figure. While I was picking it up, I came across a bunch of Xplus Gamera figures that were released in Toys R Us (Japan only) back around 1999-2000. Overall, they looked very nice and they were rather cheap (2000-3000 yen each). They had Gamera showa/heisei figures as well as Guiron, Jiger, and Baby Iris. They seemed rather nice looking figures. I never really knew of these figures' existence until I ran across them today...Any collectors here who own them? And if so, how would you rate them? Are they worth picking up, or should I just pass? How hard are they to usually find?
