The sculpt is awesome, the pose is a bit weird. It leans forward to the point where the tail is off the ground. I did heat and adjust the middle joint which helped correct it some. Its fine now, but im afraid it might faceplant in the heat of summer like its larger brother.
On another note though it is 25cm it is perfect scale with the 30cm g68 and the 30cm+ hedorah.

). If X-plus does indeed for a showa KG figure, they will be very hard pressed to top the Gigabrain figure.
At this point, I don't what company it is, be it Xplus/Marmit/Gigabrain/etc.....just give us freaking GABARA already!!!!
Brad Simmons wrote:No disrespect, this is just my opinion, but the Gigabrain King Ghidorah looks like a retooling of the old-time (1984) KG that Bandai put out back in the day. Although it has a cool retro-feel to it, my feeling is that it would never come close to the realism X-Plus would produce if/when they put one out. You can simply compare the resin statue they made against the Gigabrain version to see that.

I may be alone in this, but what I'd really like to see is an X-Plus 25cm-scale figure of KG as he looked in Godzilla vs. Gigan. It would be great to have a Ghidorah figure that captures his look from 1972, to display with Gigan.

The Gigabrain King Ghidorah is irresistible, and I pre-ordered one, too. If the figure in person matches the preview photos, it may well be the best "toy"-style figure of KG ever produced: really capturing the 'feel' of the monster. I think I'm going to like it every bit as much as some other favorites, like the Marmit Monster Heaven Gigan.
I believe that there's room for an X-Plus Ghidorah, too, though... Beautiful as the Gigabrain KG is, the proportions are still tweaked for a slight "retro" / toy look. Comparing photos of the Gigabrain figure to photos of Ghidorah from 1964 show that the toy has a shorter trunk and legs (in comparison to the necks and heads) than the actual monster... just the kind of styling I love on toy-style figures.
X-Plus, in contrast, could do a completely realistically proportioned King Ghidorah, and as far as I know, that would be the first time a top-end 'garage kit'/ figure manufacturer did KG in vinyl rather than resin.
Still, X-Plus' s Ghidorah going to have to be truly amazing to get me to part with the likely asking price. I've already got several garage kits of KG, including the Asai / Kaiju Freaks resin kit and the (smaller scale) flying Ghidorah 1968 from Image, so I'm not eager to drop another $600 or so on one from X-Plus.

And I have to say, just from pictures alone of the Gigabrain, out of the Marmit, Marusan, CCP, and Pilot Ace "designer vinyl" KG figures I have...this Gigabrain looks to be the best of that particular segment of Godzilla collectible. And I def think that a purported X Plus 30cm KG could stand well on its own also. Also...it's tough to compare the designer vinyl offerings vs. their X Plus counterparts, because they're going in totally different approaches.

DoctorMafune wrote:Egad! Now I know why I had such a hard time tracking down some of those Ghidorahs... you've got them all!
I definitely agree about the designer vinyl vs. movie-accurate replicas: they're apples and oranges.
I'm also with you on the Gigabrain KG: if it looks as good in person as in photos, it may well be the best of the KG designer vinyls.
I always wanted the Pilot Ace Ghidorah, too... but IMO, even that one—beautiful as it is—seems outclassed by Gigabrain's. Something about the way the middle head on Pilot Ace's KG bends forward just doesn't look right; but Gigabrain nailed it.
And before I get whacked for being off topic, let me just say that I think X-Plus hits more home runs than anything else... and the grinning Biollante on my desk seems to be of the same opinion. I can't wait to see what X-Plus does with Ghidorah.
