What is the average cost?

New, they're anywhere between $150-$350 typically. The one exception so far has been Biollante, which was about $650 new. Then tack on another $50 or so for shipping. Previously released figures vary greatly and some are so rare they command quite a bit of money ($500+), when/if you can find them.

Well, the Mothra wasn't the DAM version unfortunately and neither is the Manda or recently announced Rodan BUT if we're talking figures that haven't been announced at all... I've got my fingers crossed for a Spiega/Kumonga and I think we could very well see a King Ghidorah by/near the end of the year.

I know we recognize that the correct versions aren't being represented, though it's interesting that X-Plus shows the incorrect version of the characters gathered in a photo to represent the DAM film.
Oh, well. It is what it is, and I guess this is what we're getting. I'm just happy we get these nice figures. The Bandai I've collected over the years just doesn't do the characters justice like the X-Plus line.

Have to say a few words about the DAM versions/non-versions...

I think some people are conflating version vs. character. X Plus is slowly but surely releasing the cast of DAM, but not necessarily the exact versions. You have the DAM angilas and Godzilla among others but then you have mothra 61 and gorosaurus from king kong escapes.

i don't recall that they ever said they were going to release the exact literal suit versions of the characters for DAM..just that they are now on a trend of releasing the characters from said film.

I know some people are disappointed that they're not releasing the exact versions...but this isn't exactly without precedent. Most of the figures of the original 8" bandai line came with a tag featuring promotional photo from destroy all monsters...of course, most of the figures released weren't their 68 versions. It was more as if to say "this monster appeared in DAM" or "DAM featured the monsters we're releasing."

To me it makes perfect sense...DAM features the highest volume of showa characters out of any other film. If you're making a figure line of showa godzilla characters, eventually, in order to market your releases, you'll somehow tie them into a DAM theme or set up, as if to "nudge" the perspective buyer by saying, "hey, look at the selection we have available; it's big enough that you can re-create your own DAM-style group shot"

There's only 1 time that a company has released DAM versions of all the characters in their own DAM sub-line, and that's image. I guess Far East Monsters was getting started on that but they are now gone.

I'm happy to be getting them even if they're not DAM versions, except the Mothra 61'. I just hate the cream/white color scheme. I'm holding out for a brown one, if they ever decide to do it (fingers crossed). Actually, the non-DAM Manda looks better than the DAM version. I love the wispy (mustache ?) and facial horns. The DAM version is missing these and thus looks a bit plain. Still, if they put a DAM version out, I'd probaby buy that one too.

Good points. The larva color Bugs me too. I passed on it and will wait for a darker variation, if they ever do make one.
Also, that Manda is richer, more robust looking that the DAM version appeared.

I wonder if X-Plus will spell Rodan "Radon" on the box?
Brad, do you care to bet? I bet we see Radon on the box.
Subway $5 footlong is all I can wager because of the price of these figures.

Remember Gorosaurus they spelled Gorosaurs?

It's not from X-Plus. I put it together.
When X-Plus launched their 30cm series a couple years ago there was discussion of whether or not X-Plus had designs to do the entire DAM line up and what that line up consisted of. I threw this together so we could keep track of their releases.
Now yer up to speed.

Hi Frank - I'll take that bet! lol

1) I hope to God they don't spell it Radon.
2) When they released the Rodan resin statue a few years back, it said Rodan on the packagin. Sooooooo, I hope they call it that again.

I don't have the "King Kong Escapes" version of Gorosaurus. I bought the limited edition DAM version but didn't notice the misspelling if it's on there too.

BTW - Why IS the King Kong Escapes version green? All the reference pictures I find show Goro in the coloaration he is in DAM (save one that looks like they put a green filter over it because I can find the same exact picture of him in the blue-ish grey).

I'm hoping they go with Radon. X-Plus are you reading this, print Radon on the package art label. Not only is that his original Japanese name but I've got a $5 footlong riding on this, C'mon Ric-Toy!

Got it

The sculpt is awesome, the pose is a bit weird. It leans forward to the point where the tail is off the ground. I did heat and adjust the middle joint which helped correct it some. Its fine now, but im afraid it might faceplant in the heat of summer like its larger brother.

On another note though it is 25cm it is perfect scale with the 30cm g68 and the 30cm+ hedorah.

Yeh, I thought the pose was different. But with a character that's been abundantly produced in its standard upright pose, its good to see another option.

How does it look against a 25cm Godzilla, say the 1973 version. I'm planning on building a 25cm set, and I was wondering how this Hedorah would look with the other 25cm guys from Godzilla vs Megalon.

I voted for Gabara (in 25 inch/9 inch scale, as this is my preferred scale to collect as it also fits perfectly with all my Marmit/Gigabrain/Marusan/Bandai 8-9 inch figures). Originally, I was going to vote for King Ghidorah, but any interest I had in a X-plus showa KG quickly disappeared when Gigabrain unveiled their jaw-dropping showa KG figure last month (put my pre-order in already...I will received this bad boy in March    :g2k: ). If X-plus does indeed for a showa KG figure, they will be very hard pressed to top the Gigabrain figure.

At this point, I don't what company it is, be it Xplus/Marmit/Gigabrain/etc.....just give us freaking GABARA already!!!!

No disrespect, this is just my opinion, but the Gigabrain King Ghidorah looks like a retooling of the old-time (1984) KG that Bandai put out back in the day. Although it has a cool retro-feel to it, my feeling is that it would never come close to the realism X-Plus would produce if/when they put one out. You can simply compare the resin statue they made against the Gigabrain version to see that.
