Another little preview from a project that should be going live any day now. Everything is set and ready.

Going to be A LOT to read and see when this all goes up. Project has been months in the works.

This is awesome. Looking forward to it.

I love how Trendmasters used repainted Bandai figures and Kaiyodo kits for some of their advertisements- I think that the Gamera in that photo is a Bandai in particular :D

I wish someone could figure out a way to make reproduction molds from the cancelled figures. I know there would be countless legal implications and redtape to get through, but dammit I need those Zilla figures

You can keep your Zilla figures; I've been wanting a "Mega Mutation Godzilla" since the Doom Island packaging teased me in the early 2000s
Doom Island stuff was available on the Internet for a time when it was still new.

The Doom Island line was dated 1996 / 1997, so I am guessing you only discovered it in the early 2000's then??
The Doom Island line was only available for a very short while on the Trendmasters website and even then, was not the entire line. They did give away some of the MegaMutation Prototypes though...

They seem easily available online from sellers in Taiwan for some reason. Hell someone had the power up Kumonga on sale a few weeks back.

Yeah, that seller in Taiwan totally saturated the Doom Island line which was great. I was able to get all of the packaged samples, and Boxed Battle Armor figures from this guy. Awesome. Prices kept going up, the more they sold and now since the market has been fulfilled with the supply and demand, the product is no longer moving.

Yeah I'd say 2000-2001 maybe? They were still pretty recent at the time, but this was after the Trendmasters website. Other online outlets had since acquired deadstock and sold them for awhile. The prices weren't that high since they weren't technically "rare" yet but it didn't last long... at the time I thought they were making a comeback after disappearing from stores, but it turned out to be the total opposite.

I had two Godzillas and remember the dinosaur sets being available, but never found the other stuff. I've heard accounts of certain ones being available at stores in Hong Kong and Taiwan though... did any of the 10 inch figures actually see a limited release over there?

There's some of the 10" online right now actually. Two of the Biollante 10"'s sold over the past 3 months:
http://www.ebay.com/itm/401260358408?_t ... EBIDX%3AIT

and there is still a wicked 10" Godzilla in the box here:
http://www.ebay.com/itm/401260902423?_t ... EBIDX%3AIT

All three Dinosaur Boxsets are as common as the flu these days. Not shortage there. The toughest of the lot to find was always the Doom Island Battle Armor Anguirus, but after the Christmas holidays this year, at least 25 of them were sold by this same seller, so I finally grabbed mine:
http://www.ebay.com/itm/272518063669?_t ... EBIDX%3AIT

And now this is quite common:
http://www.ebay.com/itm/350751307746?_t ... EBIDX%3AIT

http://www.ebay.com/itm/311782038482?_t ... EBIDX%3AIT

http://www.ebay.com/itm/401257674752?_t ... EBIDX%3AIT

KUMONGA here:

Oh wow, so the 10 inch figures popped up recently. That's pretty cool!

Yep; the dinosaur ones have definitely been around for awhile. Baragon, Megalon and Varan were common for a time as well... I forgot that I had acquired a mint Baragon a few years back but the cardboard is a bit beat up.

Did the Taiwan seller just acquire a deadstock of them or something? It's pretty crazy how they all just popped up at once, and in perfect shape no less.

No, this seller, has literally saturated the Doom Island market base for the past 6-7 yrs. Back when it first started to hit, the initial wave was just the 5" carded figures. Came and went in phases and now it is back again, with some of these more difficult figures to acquire, like KUMONGA, Anguirus, the two 10" figures and the rarely seen Battle Armor Mecha King Ghidorah. If you have the money, BUY THEM NOW!!

This seller operates under 3 different user ID's on eBay and they have a couple of massive warehouses, where these toys are only now being found.

Wow; that's just insane! I wish I had money; stuff like the 10 inch figures look amazing but they're a big investment (a smart investment probably, but a big one nonetheless). Not to mention that the prices won't go anywhere but up if the seller has a monopoly on them.

Surprised this particular thread isn't active with the 20th anniversary of Godzilla 98!

Well, I reviewed an old Godzilla 98 figure to celebrate the anniversary! Enjoy!
