Hey, let me get the ones you already have!

...not like they'll be worth anything once the Ultra-Act versions come out anyway. Speaking of which, how about cutting me a deal on a few of your memorial box Gojis? They may seem cool now, but wait until MonsterArts gets around to the Showa era--you won't be able to give them away then! :P Just hogging up MonsterArts' shelf space.

C'mon. What'a you care anyway? More vinyls to go around for you, right?

There's this whole thing that I would love to explain at one point about how there IS a newer group of toy collectors who actually DO prize things like articulation in their figures. When I was a kid, it was Spider-Man. Who wants a Spider-Man with 4 points of articulation when you can have a full-poseable one? I'm not saying what you like is lesser or what they like is better.

Generation gaps, man. Newer generations may look for different things than the older, but neither makes one a "better" or "smarter" collector.

For all you know, 20 years from now the MA figures could be very, very sought after figures, that since they hit mass market, actually have fewer "complete and intact" copies, regardless of how many they've made.

You never know...

I don't think anyone's saying that more Ultra Act kaiju would be undesirable--just that we shouldn't count our chickens and sell/skip on buying our vinyls, so to speak.

This kind of defensiveness every single time I post is getting tiresome.

What I'm saying (and what should be EASILY understood) is that WAY too many people lately keep saying that they want to save their money on vinyls and whatever and wait until certain monsters show up in the Ultra Acts or the MonsterArts line. There's a very, very good chance that this is just not going to happen, especially when it comes to the Acts. Bandai has shown themselves to be scared shitless of adding more than 2-3 actual monsters in this line. Eleking, Gomora, Baltan and an expensive Golza exclusive. What else is there that's available? They have no plans for even popular Ultramonsters like Red King, Tyrant, Vakishim, Dada, Z-Ton and several others. This incessant "I like this vinyl, but I'll hold on to my money and wait for the Ultra Act" sentiment I keep hearing is going to get the people who say this stuff nowhere, because the monsters I keep hearing people say they'll wait for probably don't have a snowball's chance in hell of showing up in these lines.

I'm sure Ultra Act figures of the monsters I listed above - as well as any other character - would look f@cking fantastic. I'd buy them in a heartbeat. I have the Gomora and it's amazing. But I'm not going to sit here ignoring the vinyls and claiming I'm saving my money waiting for Act versions that - quite frankly - are never going to be made.

No one is trying to make anyone feel bad. I'm just explaining things based on almost 30 years of experience with this stuff. Why is it that there are so many members on this subforum who take comments from me, Jomei or G2K so personally, get so defensive and act so hurt. We're not attacking you. We're EXPLAINING things to you.

Yeah, seriously.

If people actually, ya know, paid attention, they'd realize that the monster to humaniod ratio is way off. And thats not even counting the shameless paint variants they did.

The monster ranks are being swelled a bit with Kanegon's eventual release as well as Baltan I and Metron Seijin. I'll be snagging Baltan and Metron but I've got no use for ol' change purse head.

It's pretty much a given that a few more popular Ultra Monsters will be released. That being said I am selling a few of my non classic Ultra Monster vinyls as I'm further focusing my collection.

Its pretty much Ultra Acts and Monsterarts from here on. Two more weeks till SG comes out and man am I excited. TBH I've also grown tired of the bickering. If we only get Heisei monsters I don't really care. It'll be a complete SA Heisei collection that will look awesome on my display shelf. I don't have any desire for more Marmits. I wouldn't dream of buying an x plus. And really there's only a few Bandais I'd pick up at this point.

So there ya go. I have no more use for anything else. Can't wait to see what Tamashii has in store for the festival in three weeks!

So that's...seven monsters? And I use "monsters" very loosely, since Metron and both Baltans aren't monsters in the same sense that Gomora, Eleking and Golza are monsters. The Ultra Act line has been around for a while already and the fact that those are all we've got so far in a line that's swimming in a sea of humanoid hero figures is pretty unfortunate.

It's pretty much a given that a few more popular Ultra Monsters will be released.

I wouldn't say it's a given. I don't even expect guys like Bemstar, Vakishim, Black King or Tyrant to ever show up in this line, and those are some of the coolest-looking monsters. Monsters are slowly being added to this line. VERY slowly. Way too slow for me to look at my vinyls and say, "You know what? I don't need these! It's Ultra Acts from here on out! I'm gonna sell everything else!" Because if I did that, than I better damn well be prepared to be satisfied with a solitary shelf of only a handful of Ultramonsters. Doesn't seem like a sensible trade-off.

Its pretty much Ultra Acts and Monsterarts from here on.

Enjoy.

TBH I've also grown tired of the bickering.

See, I read this and I see someone trying DESPERATELY to convince HIMSELF that nothing is important as long as the MonsterArts and Ultra Acts are around. You wonder why your posts get people talking? It' because of this "Nothing else matters or is important because nothing even comes close to these brand new lines that don't even offer a small percentage of the variety and selection of the vinyls" vibe I get. It's confusing. And if I didn't know you were sincere I'd think I was being trolled.

So there ya go. I have no more use for anything else.

Why? Because of an Ultraman line that can't be bothered to fill out it's monster roster and a Godzilla line that's JUST STARTED and only has two commercially released figures so far? That's like tossing out all your other video game consoles and handhelds because some bright and shiny new system has JUST been released with one or two cool games that have caught your eye.

Can't wait to see what Tamashii has in store for the festival in three weeks!

Imagine some more Heisei monsters. It's not hard. Not like anything will REALLY be a shock.

Kanegon IS NOT a sure bet. There have been plenty of figures that have been shown, but will proabably never be released in the Ultra Act line. Bandai likes to make figures for shows but then never release them.

Limiting yourself to one line is pretty weak. Of course you can do whatever you want. But variety is the spice of life. And forsaking Bandai, Marmit, M1, X Plus, Gigabrain ect. for a line that's seemed pretty inclusive so far just seems to lack common sense. There are plenty of characters, and versions of characters, that will never see an Ultra Act or Monster Arts figure. I'd LOVE an Ultra Act Gomess figure but I'm not holding my breath for one. And if they do release one ever (it'd be waaaay down the line after fan faves like Red King) then I'd pick it up in addition to the small Gomess collection I already have.

A lot of you guys seem to gang up on ebirahsmeg, Legion and G2K just because they're being realists. Pardon me for saying this, but some of you are being a little naive when it comes to these lines. And no, the three I mentioned are not being trolls, haters, or whatever else some of you claim just because they have differing opinions and like to voice them. They're actually trying to help a lot of you out if you think about it.

No problem man. It's a catch 22 when discussing things here. On one hand, that other board that we are a part of has virtually no discussion in the figure section, but when there is, it seems to be pretty level headed and everyone seems to appreciate each other's opinions. Now, there's more discussion here, but people seem to have really thin skin on this board if you have anything to say that's not 100% drenched in nauseating naive optimisim. Optimisim about the future is great, but don't let it affect every descision you make at the expense of the present. There are plenty of great figures out there now and it's a shame for people to forsake them because of a line that could end a few months from now for all we know.

I know they did this with some sort of Gatanozoa, but when else did they do that?

Baltan 1. Reionic Burst Gomora. The "transporting" version of Baltan.

Granted, these are all versions of already existing characters, but there is a precedent

It's quality, not quantity when it comes to my collection. My Eleking, Gomora, and Golza look fantastic alongside my Baltan II, Belial, Jean Bot, and Glen Fire. Zoffy's on the way too so my UA shelf is looking pretty healthy right now.

Meh. I expect at least to get Red King and some form of Zetton. As it is, what I have is enough and anything beyond that is icing on the cake.

Legion1979 wrote: Enjoy.

I will, believe me. Is it so hard for you to imagine that I get as much enjoyment out of my tiny collection as you do with your vinyl wall?

Legion1979 wrote: No one is bickering.

False. To bicker is to argue petulantly about something trivial. Happens all the time here. Happened a few posts ago.

Again you're off the mark. I'm not desperate, nor are MA and UA the only things that are important to me. Wife, job, mortgage, health, etc., all very important things. As far as my collection goes, though... Yup. No other figures are important to me as long as these two lines are around. Maybe you missed me repeatedly stating that the new lines are what got me back into kaiju collecting after a long hiatus. You've got some real issues with my collecting style. Fortunately I'm caring less and less every day. I'm going to say this one more time and maybe you'll be able to wrap your skull around it: Monsterarts and Ultra Acts are the only lines I care about collecting. They're the lines that got me back into collecting toys and once the lines are through my collecting will be put on hold or finished. And I will cherish them for what they are: Gorgeous representations of some of my favorite monsters.

Legion1979 wrote: Why? Because of an Ultraman line that can't be bothered to fill out it's monster roster and a Godzilla line that's JUST STARTED and only has two commercially released figures so far?

Yup. Now you're getting it!

Legion1979 wrote: That's like tossing out all your other video game consoles and handhelds because some bright and shiny new system has JUST been released with one or two cool games that have caught your eye.

False. My situation is like seeing the cool games first and getting them. Then I see some handhelds and other systems and buy them. Realizing that the latter purchases aren't what I'm looking for in a game I get rid of them.

Legion1979 wrote:Imagine some more Heisei monsters. It's not hard. Not like anything will REALLY be a shock.

That sounds exciting!

I'm honestly not "ganging up" on Legion. If anything the "collector elite" seem to be ganging up on a few people with contrary opinions. As far as Jomei and the others go my interactions with them have been civil.
