Bandai Creation Godzilla 2k? There's a bid ending tomorrow for $10 plus $11 shipping on Ebay.

RedZillaKing wrote:Either that or the money is no object. To some people $183 dollars doesn't break the bank. Hell there are people around here who will pay thousands for a vintage Bullmark fgure. Do you have a better place than ebay to get Marmits?

This, ladies and gentlemen, is everyone's favorite Singaporean seller "what_a_day", a prime example of sellers/dealers who are ruining ebay. This clown is notorious for his extreme overpricing of Marmit figures (If memory serves me correct, I believe he was the dealer awhile back who was charging over $500 for the Marmit MH Large Biollante figure). Over at the CT forums, his ebay auctions are regularly referenced in the "When Ebay sellers still think its 1998" thread. Go here to check out some of his doozies from this past holiday season:

I wonder if anyone has been stupid enough to buy figures from him...

^^Some people don't have the resources or the time to be hunting a figure. Doesn't mean they shouldn't have the chance to nab them.
If you want a MH Orga and you have the cash I don't see how assholes like what-a-day aren't a viable option. People pay that kind of markup all the time.

ebirahsmeg1 wrote:Boo hoo. A lot of people want ferraris, but don't have the resources. This is an expensive hobby...don't come whining because you can't find certain Marmits for under $100...this is the norm in the collecting biz. I was collecting figures for *years* prior to moving to Japan and have had to pay high prices on numerous occasions. There have been times that I have waited *years* before I was able to hunt down certain figures or had to wait because I didn't have the resources....again, it's all part of collecting. However, I have given you some sound advice on how you can avoid "over-excessive prices" like what_a_day and that dealers like that are far from the only way to obtaining these figures. Unfortunately, it seems like I'm talking to a wall.

I'm not sure what we're arguing about, but this has grown very tiresome. Fine, you win....yup, assholes like what_a_day are the only viable options for collectors stateside...whatever you say. Bye bye now.

Legion1979 wrote:Yes, because paying a lot of money for really, rare old toys that you NEVER see - figures you may have a once in a lifetime chance to buy - is clearly the same thing as spending way too much on relatively new toys that you could find for a lot less if you know where to look.
Legion1979 wrote: what-a-day is an incredibly overpriced seller. Period. I'm not judging shit. I'm telling you that this is an overpriced seller who was asking for an arm and a leg for the Manda figure he was selling.

You're dumb if you think that $100 is too much to spend on a Marmit and you're dumb if you think that $150 is a reasonable price.
That about right?

See? Doesn't this figure look better? I think so, and it is cheaper, too. Just my two cents on the subject.

That is the dumbest thing I've ever heard or seen. These older figures that I have from the 80's and early 90's completely blow that thing out of the water. The price is outrageous, too. If you pay that price, you're dumb. You should know where to look elsewhere, because you're a collector, right? No? Then who cares. You're dumb for paying that high price for a figure you may never have the chance to get again. I enjoy the figure I spent $200 on that I had a once in a lifetime chance to get because I live in (insert place here)/I know (insert person here).
