That.. Actually sounds like a good idea. At first I thought nah, but it mite b cool. Only problem would be if they release a figure that someone doesn't like, they'd miss out, but I guess that's half the fun.

^ Personally I think it'll be a great marketing ploy on Bandai Tamashii Nation's part if such a tactic is ever used. People will then HAVE to buy the figure even though they may not like the figure itself in order to have a fully finished Biollante figure.

That would be great for some people, but raise hate from ther people. They won't risk it. But however, personally I'll buy each and every Toho and Daiei item they'll put out in this line anyway, so I'd be fine with such strategy. But the only thing I can really imagine them doing is putting pre-order exclusive accessories with certain figures, like they did with some ULTRA-ACT figures.

Personally, waiting months just to complete Biollante would be murder :P.

But as an idea in general, Its pretty cool and would be ideal for those who couldnt pay for a complete figure in one go.

Interesting... Grand King Ghidorah picked up a decent amount if votes. Titanosaurus is edging out his TOM co-star by a vote. Final Wars Anguirus has 10 votes on his Shows counterpart. Apparently Gigan is wanted. Here's where I think the votes will come in: Bandai/Tamashii decides they're making an anguirus, but they're not sure which one to make. BOOM!

Anyway, I have a feeling that there are gonna be some Shows era figures on display in July. Excited...

Collect & Connect is a terrible idea for this line! I wasn't fond of it when it came to $15 action figures, but $60-80 monsters? I'd hate to have to spend that kind of coin on something, just to get a C&C part, if I don't want the monster!

My MOGERA passed thru NYC on the 17th( my usps track was just updated ); it'll prob. be here in the next 1-3 days.

Absolutely no interest in a Grand King Ghidorah. The vinyl representation is already amazingly detailed and painted and much larger than a MonsterArts figure would be.

And, no offense, but I personally hate that collect and connect idea with the Biollante. The chances of them releasing many figures I don't want to buy is rather high if the line so far is any indication, so I'd much rather buy Biollante outright than collect her piece by piece. Don't get me wrong, it's a "cool" idea but it would aggravate me intensely as someone who has only middling interest in this line.
Now it's dark...

For me it's not so much about the size of the figure in general. It's all about how well it scales with its counterparts. If we got a GKG, it would probably be scaled to the current Ghidorah's height (an impressive 9 or so inches). Therefore it would still dwarf the average figure in the line. And it would be hefty. And no doubt spectacularly detailed.

There is almost 0 chance that we'll get a Grande King Ghidorah. If we did I would happily snap it (them) up, though.

As for the collect and connect business... Yeah... No. No thanks. It would raise the cost of each individual figure and people who just want the BAF monster will either be turned off or have to pay exorbitant prices for the BAF or its individual pieces on eBay.

I think the C&C aspect would be interesting, yes, but not for Biollante. Maybe, say, a Manda figure or the like.

I'm thinking in July we'll see more Ghidorah, some of what has already been released, and maybe one or two new figures. Tamashii Nations is in November, right? BIIIG reveals last year, and I have a feeling we'll get the most there.

Also, I don't know if the MonsterArts line will be represented, but apparently 5 new prototype FiguArts will be displayed at SDCC. Maybe something for the MonsterArts line will be there?

Okay... That would be cool. I feel like Manda won't be released otherwise :(

Oops... I though Tamashii had two equally important shows... one in summer, one in winter. Yeah, you're probably right.

Eh, for all I know, we could get an outline of every figure planned for released and a time frame in the summer and nothing in the Winter. I mean, think about it, though. Ghidorah's in September and then nothing after it. One figure announced for a November/December release could hold them over to work up more prototypes, or we could get everything in the summer. Either way, my Jimmies will be very happy.

And don't know if I should pick up SDCC Gohan to maybe go with Cell if it looks awesome or not...

Found some shots from the Osaka Umeda Yodobashi Soul caravan event in Akiba taken just 2 days ago. These pictures have better lighting on them then the ones in my past posts.

Agreed. Biollante would be so large, that even in individual pieces, it would probably raise the price of each individual figure too much (as well as increase the packaging size). Manda on the other hand (in pieces) wouldn't be much larger than your standard special effects part, I would think. BTW, I fully realize that the collect and connect idea is absolutely loathed by some. I myself still have an unfinished c&c Ultra Humanite from the DCUC Walmart exclusive wave because I never managed to find two of the figures and refuse (for now) to pay the after market price for them. Just an idea I thought I'd float out there...

Oh sure thing. It's not a terrible idea for an average toyline. Manda could work, though. However, I don't think Bandai would ever go for it.

Welcome to TK.

Now that I think about it, we probably shouldnt get a Biollante.

Think about it; besides it likely being crazy-expensive, there's the issue of it's size.

If we want a 100% accurately sized Bio, she'd need to be just a tad bit taller than Godzilla. Lets not forget that Bio is only 120 meters, and the Heisei Godzilla is 100 meters.

But obviously most folks would want a giant, friggin' lump of plastic that towers their MAs, so really, she'd need to be as tall as Ghidorah, and considering her girth, thats A LOT of material used to create her, which means a bigger price tag too.

So...thoughts?

At the end of the day, I would want them to do a Biollante anyway because I have been waiting for a chance like this for years. BUT, I can see peoples fear of price due to the size and the materials put into the sculpt thus driving away most buyers. But it would be more common then the Bandai 8 inch version and the Trendmaster versions and reguardless of price be MUCH cheaper than the X-Plus figure. So it is 50/50 and that is even if the figure gets made ( which I really hope it does).

Thats my 2 cents.

I was watching vs Biollante, and I noticed something particular during the infamous rush scene where she darts towards Godzilla... She has a good amount of spots on her that move. The red areas circled are what we can see in the picture that move. There are two spots behind her that move, and the torso/neck area has about 4 spots possible for articulation.

Image

That's not bad at all. I estimated that, with the two unseen spots NOT including tentacles, she could have 12 spots of articulation.
