Could possibly be a new Godzilla for the 2012 movie, but that's a little extreme in terms of all of the possibilities. It could be shown now to start getting fans to hype about the new movie, but it is probably too soon for that. Realisticily, this figure could be GFW judging by the design of the art a little bit.

Realistically, this figure is probably the Burning Godzilla that we already KNOW is going to be a SDCC exclusive and the art we keep seeing just happens to be heavily stylized.

Never said I knew for sure. But on the other hand I definitely think the very idea that the SDCC MonsterArts figure would be a Godzilla design that we've never seen, from a movie that we know nothing about, that might not be out for another two years or so, is absolutely ludicrous.

Again, not that I disagree. A think the chances of it being a new design are slim to nil; of course it's most likely going to be the Burning Goji (different name, I guess...?) if for no other reason than that we've seen a prototype of the figure and it makes total sense within the precedents that Tamashii has made in the past for this to be the show exclusive. Cool.
However, until official word has been released then neither you nor I get to say we're "right", so let's refrain from calling people's wishful (and most likely, knowingly) thinking "ludicrous". Nothing wrong with anything anybody is saying here so no need to get all, "nuh-uh" about it.

Back OT; if it is the Burning Goji then eh, I'm not interested. Certainly not for the trouble and money I'd burn to get it. I dunno though, if it were a different Goji sculpt, oh man, I'd be calling my family out in Cali.

If you, me, and dogs know that it's going to be Burning Goji it still doesn't mean that someone can't posit a "ooh, what-if", especially when it hasn't been explicitly stated yet.

I swear, some members seem Hell-bent on taking any of the fun out of this fandom. "No you can't dare think that, let alone say it out loud. Don't you know anything?" is a pretty common sentiment in this group of fans and seems to be totally self-serving; it certainly never brings anything new to the table.

It's not doing harm. i just find it pretty dumb, and a big stretch at that.

Tamashii is gonna reveal what is obviously Burning Godzilla, after showing us an artist's personal rendition of it. And people start going "omg what if this is teh legendary design!?"

I just have a need to voice my opinions, for good or ill.

There's no harm in it at all. Speculation is half the fun. It's funny... Even though we essentially know (or think we know) what's being revealed people are still getting hyped up.
