Who am I sticking it to exactly? And don't be a fool. Garuda is a legitimate figure on it's own. It has its own accessories and is many times larger than your exaggerated example.

Garuda IS an accessory. Watch the movie again if you dont believe me.

They just managed to fool/scam a bunch of consumers out of an extra $60 because they could.

Uh huh.

It's part of a weapons pack. It's not a figure the way Godzilla, Mechagodzilla and Space Godzilla are figures. It's ship that most people are just going to stick to Mechagodzilla's back and is something that SHOULD have been packaged with that toy in the first place.

False. Garuda is a figure. Mechagodzilla is a figure. Together they make Super Mechagodzilla. Garuda fought Rodan on its lonesome. It's packaged separately. Sure it comes with an accessory for Mechagodzilla... But I suppose that means Fire Rodan is just an accessory too.

Fact: the Garuda warship is a mech that can fight on its own. The figure comes with its own stand. To be displayed separately. It is its own figure.

Fact: wasn't giving Jomei (who I actually like) anything more than a good natured retort. Stop attempting to instigate.

@G2K- cute, but I wasn't scammed into anything.

IDGAF who poops on this line, I like what I like and enjoy it.

I do agree with Garuda being a figure. I had it displayed on its own for a while, but too little of my dresser was showing, so on the back of MG he went.

However, I caught my Revoltech Anguirus doing a shelf dive today, and I really came to the realization I have too much crammed on my dresser, so I boxed up my Bandais and Y-MSF's and the Garuda is standing (flying? hovering?) by itself now.

I'm just saying, it's kinda debatable whether you'd consider Garuda a figure, and Little Godzilla is... really little. We've got a little over a handful of figures out of this line; we may get more, we may not. No need to act like we've reached some meaningful milestone or proved anyone wrong or anything like that.

edit: also guys, can we not all start reporting each other the moment a disagreement becomes contentious in the slightest? X_X

Jesus Christ people, There are three separate reports for this thread alone. Look, maybe it's because I'm not a collector, and give less then a shit about what line is superior and blah blah blah but....

Shut the skreeonk up already.

You aren't alone. I'd more than LOVE, LOVE, LOVE to spend more time doing write-ups for some of the figures and comics that I have, but God forbid there's a drop of blood in the water.... One of the many breeds of shark will take a leg with 'em.

@Jomei: Ghidorah will be the meaningful milestone (Vol. 8/9). I hope you didn't take offense. It wasn't meant to be hostile. I just happen to disagree that size dictates whether a figure is legit or not. Not surprised I was reported. Someone seems to want me banned. LOL.

Yoda is considered legit in SW lines.... Just sayin'.

Honestly I'd like to participate more in this thread, but the frequency with which it devolves into arguing over this line versus whatever is downright comical. And I say that as someone who did it myself once, but have seen the light and am trying to walk the straight road now.

People don't seem to argue over Bandai vinyls versus Gigabrain vinyls or Marmit vinyls or whatever. Unclear to me why this line invites so much controversy, except I suppose it's new, whereas all those battles were fought ages ago.

There are certain people dedicated to killing the hype it generates, that's for sure. It's not working so far. They are a persistant lot, though.

It does seem like they're threatened by it though. Half the hostlity that erupts around here owes its existence to people who knock the people who love SHM.

Honestly, from what I've gathered, the following is why:

- One person, on a different forum all together that seems like a nutjob, won't shut up about how awesome these figures are.
- People are spending money on this line and not others... Their own money.
- People are dishonoring (right term here?) older figures by saying the new figures are better than older vinyls, which is opinion of taste, though it is HARD to fight that with SpaceGodzilla.
- ???
-Profit!

I don't know. I just don't like it. It makes me sad, really. Between the comics, and movies, and figures... I really can't say I'm happy to have discussions with most of the fandom. :?

I only have Godzilla right now due to not having a whole lot of money (though I am pre ordering Fire Rodan soon) but I really do love these things. Its been very cool going into comic shops and seeing these on the shelves and displays.

Heck I was at my local comic shop (very small one) the other day picking up a few old Marvel comics and the guy who owns it asked "any Godzilla items I need to be on the lookout for?" I mentioned MonsterArts and he had a magazine with a lot of comic stuff in it including the MonsterArts! Now thats good customer service!

Whats been the best part about these and IDW comics is I can go into a store and buy Godzilla stuff instead of searching online.

It's not just the size (because we still pay for price for it), but the character itself. Garuda is just a bloated airship that does nothing but suck and die until it sticks it useless metal ass on Mechagodzilla's back.

And yes, anyone who bought Garuda WAS scammed, because it should have come with MG in the first place. That's the whole gimmick; becoming Super Mechagodzilla!

That'd be like releasing a transforming Moguera, but having the Star Falcon and Land Moguera sold seperately.

Oh for God's sake.

You wanna know why we "kill the hype?" It's because of folks like you who cant seem to get your mouth off ofTamashii's dick.

I love this assumption that we're "threatened" by a new toy line. What the skreeonk that does that even mean? A new toy line we have gone on record to say we will happily support? One that is totally independent of the already guaranteed future of the traditional vinyl figures?

We "knock" folks like you because you people have overhyped and overblown this toy line like it's the second coming of Jesus.

I dont care what anyone likes or collects, but give it a rest and stop pretending SHMAs is the one and only future for Godzilla action figures.

Re: SH Monsterarts!

My reason for loving S.H. MonsterArts is very simple. Ever since I was a kid, I've always wanted better "action figures" of Godzilla. I started out with the Tricephalon Godzilla, a solid block of plastic with no articulation and a sculpt that barely resembled the Godzilla I knew from the movies. The next G-toys I got were the Bandai vinyls, which were a bit more articulated and much more realistic. I had the first King-Goji Bandai vinyl as a five-year-old in 1984, thanks to a special trip with my dad to Mr. Big Toyland in Waltham, MA.

For me - and this is just my personal preference - the more detailed the sculpt and extensive the articulation, the better. Therefore, as much as I love my Bandai vinyls (and I do), SHM is the Godzilla line I've always dreamed of. I'm exactly the same way with all my other toy collecting - for example, I prefer DC Universe Classics to DC Direct's more artist-based, less articulated lines.

But I have no thoughts on whether SHM is any better or worse than any other action toy line - and couldn't care less. It's just the one I'm personally enjoying the most. If people prefer Bandai vinyls or Gigabrains or Marmits, fantastic - the broader the love for Godzilla and kaiju, the better it is for all of us.

^That's awesome. I wish my local comic shop carried figures.

I used to be into Star Wars... like big time into it. I used to think the squabbles over there (Rebelscum.com) were just nuts. Course I hadn't met Godzilla collectors yet. They sure can be a bitter (sometimes genuinely unhinged) lot. SHM reignited my passion for kaiju collecting. The dream of an SA perfectly scaled Tohoverse was closer to reality than ever before! Am I sometimes too enthusiastic about the line? Sure. But really-who cares?

@G2K- Really? I wasn't even referring to you. Though you talk real big on the internet. Reported punk.

Exactly the way I feel Poe. Couldn't agree more.

Some people of us do have logical reasons for liking these figures and have done nothing to rain on the parades of fans of the other lines/styles. I just really hate seeing everybody get lumped into groups based on liking something. I can enjoy one thing and STILL like other things and vice versa. When people use blanket statements like "all you SHM fanboys" I can honestly say, I don't know who the hell you're even referring to so...not a good way to posit a disagreement, n'est-ce pas?
