Same here, I've got mine pre-ordered from them and I can't wait to get it. 8-)

I got the pic from Tamashii's facebook page, for those wondering.

And, yes, I was given an estimate of early-mid next week.

While I don't like waiting this long, realistically, I won't need this figure until late next year at the earliest, so the cheap rice for waiting doesn't bother me.

Bandai/Tamashii should do Godzilla Mythos monsters, that they don't think will do well in mass-market release, as Tamashii Web Exclusives, like they do with Ultra-Act & others. If the only way I can get a SHMA Megaguirus, is to go thru the Tamashii web site, then so be it!

So...you want them to make figures of less popular monsters and sell them as highly overpriced web exclusives?

What I'm SAYING is, that if that is the ONLY way to get certain less-popular monsters, then I'm willing. Case in point - Megaguirus. Everyone keeps saying how UNpopular this monster is. Well, I like Megaguirus, & would like to see it in SHMA. If the choice is a) an overpriced web exclusive, or b) not at all, then I choose 'a'.

But...why would they do that?!

That doesnt make any sense sense at all!

A less popular monster already = less appeal to consumers. Stick a fat price tag on that and you turn away even MORE costumers!

^ It is definitely NOT the best of marketing strategies. It's just best to not produce the character at all instead of Tamashii Nations taking the risk of losing large amounts of money, and producing figures that only a very small percentage of the line's consumers would want. Kaiju like Megaguirus, Orga, and Monster X are not marketable at all, so while it'll be cool if figures of them were released, in reality, I don't see it happening at all. That is, unless Tamashii Nations is willing to make a huge gamble on it.

I don't think you guys get it - part of what Tamashii Web Exclusives are for, is to put stuff out that may not do well at full retail, & that describes some Toho kaiju to a 'T'.

No, I dont think YOU get it.

Less popular monster = less markey value, which = less sales which also = money lost for the company.

None of the Ultra Act web exclusive characters are obscure, and have something to tie into.

Astra - ties in with Leo, as they are twin brothers.
Golza - ties in with Tiga.
Darclops Zero - ties in with Zero, the 2-part special, and the movie cameos.

Etc, etc.

I dunno why you guys are talking about it. That's UltraMan, not Godzilla. We know the two lines are separate and you can't compare the two.

Showa monsters as web exclusives might be cool. Like, for example, Heisei Ghidorah as the main release, Showa as a web exclusive.

Not that I'd want that to happen, but, ya know.

EDIT: 1000... I've been here too long.

And Megaguirus was in a movie, released worldwide, so what counts as 'obscure'?

Released worldwide? I don't think that's really the right term when it was released directly to video everywhere else except Japan, where I'm pretty sure it bombed anyway.

And the film was quite sub-par. I liked the movie, and I like Megs, but she is pretty obscure.

Your're right. Here in Germany the film was released nothing earlier than 2006 and got little to no marketing. It just popped up in stores. It has bad dubbing. It never was in TV. So I believe nobody but hardcore fans even know about Megaguirus and only a percentage of them would buy an expensive figure of it. Even the vinyl figure was said being a bad seller back the day and was sitting on the store shelves for long. However, if BANDAI may ever decide to risk an S.H.MonsterArts Megaguirus, I'd buy it in a heartbeat. It's still possible, but very unlikely. That's for sure.

You know what would be really neat?

When 2014 ( Godzillas 60th Anniversary) comes around S.H Monsterarts could make a Godzilla 54 for the occasion. Its wishful thinking but at the same time it would be perfect.
