Still, very funny!

And why are the SDCC-goers in for a treat? I'm not going, but I still intend to get Burning G! :g2k:

Welp, after doing more research and watching a few video reviews, I pulled the trigger on Godzilla...should be here Monday with Amazon's one day shipping. If I like him as much as I think I will, I'll be selling off the vinyls in favor of SH (I would keep them all, but I can only spend so much on toys..and I just haven't been getting very excited about vinyls lately. Super articulation, on the other hand, has been giving me a serious boner). Rodan and King Ghidorah are gonna be mine too. Can't waaiittt. :D

I'm sending my Godzilla right back if there's any sign of derpy face though. Thank god the packaging is see-through..

I have no use for these digital copy/UV things, so I'll give codes away whenever I buy a disc. I currently have a code for Jurassic Park, PM me if you want it!

And people wonder why the vinyl fans are starting to get aggravated at the MA series.

Well if he was smart, he'd only sell his Heisei vinyls. People planning on dumping entire vinyl collections for this series are being far too shortsided.

What's this got to do with "vinyl fans"? He has made a choice based on his own personal preference just as you have, Legion; what's that got to do with you or any other "vinyl fans" such as myself? It isn't the choice I would make but it isn't my choice to make for him. Nor is it yours.

People can do whatever the hell they want to do with their collections and can collect whatever the hell they want to. I love you Legion, but you are not the arbiter on what is "acceptable" collecting behavior. Let it go.

If the line is doomed to end/fail/stop making Godzilla or whatever other negative things you are predicting come to pass then congratulations; all of the "vinyl fans" can have a nice good old fashioned, Commander Mugen style belly-laugh and break their arms patting themselves on the back. In the meanwhile the entire scope of Godzilla collecting will have shrank that much more; but that's good for the "vinyl fans", right?

I can see why a fan of vinyls would feel a little irked at people dumping their vinyl figs for the MA series, but, hey, we can disagree, focus on different figure lines, and move on. No need to fight over it.

Let's not have yet another battle over this. Everyone lay off it.

The thing is, I agree with parts of what both you and Legion are saying, but you're both being unnecessarily hostile--more so on the FB group in question, where insults and provocation were abound--and since I have a little control over the discussion here, I'm asking everyone to please keep it friendly in this thread.

Everyone makes their own choices, and everyone has their opinions. It's okay to sell your vinyls for MonsterArts, and it's okay to say that's a bad idea and shortsighted. But let's not insult people for their choices, and let's not bait people into vitriolic arguments.

I'd forgotten how long it can take for this sort of argument to die down. It happened in my other collecting community, Masters of the Universe, when people began selling their vintage figures when the Millennium line came out, and then years later when people began selling their Millennium figures when the Classics line came out. I myself sold off my Millennium collection when Classics came out, and fortunately that's worked out just dandy for me.

That's all I've ever said, Jomei. That's it.

I don't even know how I'm being hostile about this today. Sure, I might've gotten a little snarky but certainly no more so than, literally, everyone else gets about this stuff. In my above post I said to "let it go" not "let's keep fighting about it". So what if I say my peace; nobody has to agree with it or be my little sycophant. Ignore it, scroll past, or get over it. We all need to do that, but you can't say things like "F--ing R--rded" and not expect anyone to have an opinion about how you just conducted yourself.

I can't believe what happened. I mean, I seriously am having trouble processing the thinking behind it.

Adam, several people have complained to me that your posts were antagonistic or overly "snarky". Something that I do agree with as your posts seem to have a tendency is spiral discussion into a negative area. The actual deed of deleting you was not done by me, but I'd be lying if I said I didn't support it.

Should I have not used the words "f@cking retarded"? Probably. That was harsh. But I still stand behind how I feel about the classic vinyl style suddenly being treated like second class citizens because of this brand new line. As you were obviously able to see from the posts on my group, there are others who DO feel this way too.

Let's keep the facebook drama to facebook. I don't want to see another post referencing it in this thread. Play nice.

Everyone feels the way they feel. We know how everyone feels about it. Bang, done. I want to see discussion of the actual toy line, not bickering over whether or not people should sell whatever the hell they want to sell, or whatever this is about now.

You guys make me grumpy.

It has been over a week with BBTS, and I've been becoming more anxious than I was a few days ago.

Are Monsterarts figures replacing Bandai's vinyl series because the Godzilla box claims that SH Monsterarts is the new standard figure series for Bandai.

I doubt it. I'm sure when Bandai has a reason to seriously market Godzilla again in Japan they'll bring back the vinyls. The Ultra Acts haven't stopped the Ultra vinyl line, has it?

For now it has. The standard vinyl line hasn't put anything out for half a decade and this line will have churned out no less than 7 brand new original sculpted and one variant. And that's not even counting the two effects packs (one of which is a legit figure all its own). On less than a year's time.

The Ultra Act example doesn't hold up as the property is still very popular in Japan. Also, with the current film there's plenty going in right now in the franchise to keep it in the public eye. When a new Godzilla film comes out the vinyl line may resurrect, but for now SHM is it.

I have almost no problem with it if it did. Aside from a few variants (theater exclusive), almost every figure I'd rather have as an SA figure.

I bought the BC FW Gigan late last year.... Before I knew about the chogokin.

The rage I felt when I found out the Chogokin existed.

Hopefully I can find a cheap Chogokin Kiryu soon, or Tamashii takes a crack at 'em. MG '75's chogokin would be PERFECT for me, sooooo....
