Like G2K said, this thread could be more like the one at Club Tokyo, featuring that one member who is so unbelievably obsessed with the MonsterArts that he post-spams the thread about them over-analyzing everything about the toy, from what might be unveiled in future toy shows to when a figure might specifically come out. He double posts if he feels he needs to and constantly comes across as if he's being paid by Bandai to promote them. The catch is, despite his obsession, he doesn't own any of them, hasn't pre-ordered any of them and doesn't plan on buying any in the near future. The hell...?

Actually, he does own the Mechagodzilla.

But then. that's only because he won some shitty toy photo contest on Facebook and got it for free.

So if anything he's a freeloader. 8D

Even if Bandai does abandon this line (like they abandoned the vinyl line back in 2007) we had a good run. Hell, that Ghidorah alone makes the whole thing worth it.

They're putting out plenty of lines. Ultra Act, Figuarts, D-Arts, Soul of Chokogin, Bandai Creations, just to name a few.

Double posting? More like triple/quadruple posting in many cases (I wish CT would adopt TK's "no double posting" rule specifically for individuals like this ). Remember that one post he made where he literally wrote 10 paragraphs on why he thinks this line would be available at Toys R Us? I mean Jesus H Christ, 10 paragraphs? Seriously? He's also clearly in denial and insists he's not obsessed (sounds like someone at an AAA meeting). Most recently, he's started to whine to board mods to warn those who are sick of his BS (i.e. basically all the board members). Wonder what he will do once this line is finished?

Oh God, is that how he actually won that thing??! Look, I don't like to insult anyone for this hobby (hell, I'm part of this community and collect myself), but in this case, those endless Ultra-Act contest photos he spammed on CT shows that he seriously needs to find something to do beyond Ultra-Act figures (i.e. alternative hobby/job/outdoors activity/etc.)...

Trust me, you have no idea....he goes beyond just being "obsessed". Even the most ardent, die hard SH supporters at CT are getting sick of this guy....

He hates S.H.MonsterArts and is eagerly hoping for it to end. Or he's just trolling trying to provoke the SHM fans over there, I don't know.

I got petulant and let it get the best of me and posted something childish. I generally try to avoid that, and lord knows I've worked my ass off to avoid it and yet, the one other time this happened (a good twenty years ago now) I felt dumb then, too.

I do dislike what I perceive as your repeatedly negative posts about SHM, but that's my problem, not yours. I've been around the Internet for too long to have any excuse for succumbing to this sort of behavior.

And the future sure is bright. Not only are we getting amazing renditions of Fire Rodan, Moguera, Little Godzilla, and Ghidorah.... Now Tamashii is asking what monsters we want. F*** yeah!

I am excited about this line and happy to be here on the ground floor for their releases. I plan on picking up most of the figures from this line and so far, find each one of them to be worth the money I've paid.

Does this make me obsessed with the line? And even if I were, what exactly is wrong with being passionate about something that you like?

I know, I know, double posts and spam posts are annoying to me too, but what real harm does any of it do? You can always, y'know, not read it or ignore the posts. Put him on an ignore list or report him to the mods; that's all you can do and all that needs be done.

As far as all of this back-and-forth goes, has anyone pointed out that we're all using 1 person examples on both sides of this issue?

If all I went by was what Ebirahsmeg said then yeah, I'd think all of these people are hating on the figures for no reason at all.

There's a lot of black and white and in-betweens here as well. I don't think it's a smart or productive thing to say, "All of these people are _____" when we all know that's not the truth. The truth is more complex and I think we all owe each other a bit more respect than saying shit like that allows.

If there's anything that really, REALLY gets to me about some of the Anti-Monsterarts talkback is how there seems to be a recurring sentiment that if you are into MA's then you have no respect for any of the figures that came before. I'm not pointing fingers or implying, simply relaying an observation that DOES NOT apply to everyone in that group but a few individuals within. If so, then I must be some mutant 'cause I like these as much as I like any of my M-1's or Marmit's. So let's just clear that up; you can like both. You can, in fact, appreciate both at the same level for different reasons. What's the old...Oh yeah; Apples and Oranges. That's taste.

There's no chance that an even headed person could say that the MA's are of poor quality or even inferior in quality than, say, Marmits. Certainly their sculpts and paint-jobs, if nothing else, are superior to any of the Bandai vinyls I've seen (if you remove personal taste from the equation).

However, that's not even a fair statement to make since I'm sure there's somebody out there, somewhere, who finds the Bandai Mogu-Goji sculpt to be more appealing than the MA...I mean, I can't understand why anyone would think that and it doesn't stand to reason, so it must be personal taste, right...?

Maybe. Who knows? Does it matter? If the guy jumped in a thread and started up about it, do I really NEED to go and correct him, y'know, 'cause it isn't the popular or even (majority and taste say) the best opinion? Who cares? If he's happy with it, fine. Let 'im be happy, I say. Why do I need to burst his bubble? Just to be right about it?

I've seen all kinds of bashing on these figures from all over the spectrum and the range of it is pretty crazy. There's been people refusing to buy one because they're too poseable??? I still don't get that one, but whatever. I'll just move on. I've seen complaints about the "seams" on the joints being too much to bear; another complaint I don't really get. Putting aside the fact that they're incredible feats of engineering, what if I were to say that the seams on MA Godzilla are just as garish and appalling to me as, say, the Bandai GMK Goji?

See. Opinions cut both ways. So let's just set them aside; they don't get us anywhere except into dick-waving matches that, frankly, happen ad-nauseum in this fandom. I'm just wondering which figures it IS okay to get obsessed about? Is there a chart or pie-graph somewhere I don't know about? How many Y-MSF rocks do I need to burn to get a look at it? I'm dead serious with that question; which are okay to obsess over, 'cause I'm pretty sure all us collectors have done the ole' obsession tango?

I'm not trying to be mean or start shit, so please, no flames; that's not what this is about.

I've been too busy to write anything about this subject since it came up, so if we've moved on, let's move on; you can consider this a necro-post.
