Just got GAG#3 and I am definitley lovin' it.

The story is continueing nicely. Not at all complicated with too many on-going flashbacks. We don't see much of Sato's character, but we do get to see more of his past and relationships, which is still nice enough. And by the end, Takahashi proves to be more interesting as a villain.

The monster action and city destruction is awesome, to say the least. Mothra and Godzilla appear here, and what little they did was more epic than all of KoM's destruction scenes combined. And the preview of the next issue implies that Gigan, Battra, Rodan, Anguirus, and Ghidorah will join the fray.

Do the second and third issues have more material than the first? #one only had six or seven pages. Not really complaining, but I was just wondering.

The first issue was really just for introducing Sato and the Elias.

2 and 3 definitley fleshes out the story and adds more to the characters.

Thanks, I'm a little more hyped now. I've never been into comic books; as a matter of fact, this is the first actual comic book I've ever bought, so I didn't know how much material would be in the issue. I guess I could've looked at it before I bought it, but where's the fun in that?

After 1 read through of issue 3 I must say I am still enjoying this story greatly. The character of Sato now seems almost fully formed and we have a deeper understanding of the man and what drives him and shapes his life. I liked the way they managed to work the whole balance thing into the story, With Mothra and Godzilla almost being at opposite ends of the pendulum.

Art work and colours still working in the tales favour. If I have any problem with the art it was the look of Godzilla in a few of the city destruction schemes that didn't look quite up to the standard of the rest of the book. Almost rushed looking.

Again 22 pages of story and 10 pages of Adverts. Sorry I am not paying my $3.99 for adverts.

Next issue, well the back cover says it all Monster Mash.

Still head and shoulders above the main book sadly.

Hate to burst your bubble, but IDW's covers rarely reflect what's going on story-wise. According to their cover previews, King Ghidorah should have appeared in KOM a couple issues back. Their preview for the next ish of KOM shows Godzilla battling Battra larva and Kumonga, when Battra is already gestating in a cocoon, on another continent, with Rodan closing in. Kumonga's not even been introduced yet.

I mean, Gigan, really? WTF is he even doing on Earth? It's not like they can pass him off as a mutant dinosaur or something.

Best hope IDW doesn't check these forums. I'd really hate for them to actually try that: "Oh hey, let's completely change Gigan's backstory, and make him a mutant dinosaur instead of an alien, and see what the fans think! And, just for shits and giggles, let's make him directly related to Godzilla!"

My copy of #3 hasn't arrived yet, I cant wait for it to get here. Sato's story is far more entertaining to me than the choppy stories thrown together in KOM. Sure, we've seen it all in every gangster/cop/detective drama before. But not with Mothra kickin' some Tokyo underground ass. That throws this incarnation of a classic gangster tale straight to the top, mate!

I've got a motion comic up of #1, professionally voiced and all! Its been up for a couple of days - I waited a couple of months to post it to make sure it wouldn't interfere with the circulation of the actual issue. Check it out if you're digging these stories and please let me know what you think!

I didn't say Gigan will appear. I said the cover implies he will appear, which was already proven to be untrue. Plus, every issue of GAG has had atleast one cover that had alot to do with the issue's story, so there's no doubt that there will be an army of giant monsters. Hell, the description of issue 5 even SAYS that a gaggle of monsters will appear.

But even if Gigan did appear, what's wrong with that? It's not like they have to mention why he shows up since he has nothing to do with the story. It's like complaining too much about why Ghidorah is on Monster Island. Does it make much sense? No. Does it have to? No. Is it cool? Arguable, but yes imo.

Only two issues remain. I can't believe it's ending so quickly.

Damn you TK, stopping eating my posts.

Anywho, third issue was interesting. I honestly didn't expect the fairies to be kidnapped by the villain, although I guess it's kinda obvious. With Godzilla finally reappearing, I'm looking forward to the next issue, especially what Mothra is going to end up doing. This may be the first time it's up to Godzilla to stop Mothra.

True. I hope issue #4 picks up right where this one left off... because I was sort of left scratching my head...

I mean, after everything Sato did to Takahashi and his empire.... Takahashi didnt just walk in the hotel room and put a shiny one straight thru Sato's forehead?

Maybe its just me... but if I was an evil crime lord/bossman... and some old school cop ruined everything I had... I would shoot him if given the chance. Hell, a SECOND chance in this situation. But the plot must continue and so on and so forth.

Oh well, no complaints here. I like Sato. And I really like voicing him. So I am good.

Most Comic shops will have it mid-month. The estimated release date is Sept. 14th, 2011. If you haven't seen the cover for it, its fantastic:

I've been getting all 3 8-)

I can't wait for #4. 3 was iffy, more of a build up of events than continuation of the story, so hopefully this will deliver.
