Figured I'd give this a bump...

I'll be getting the Iron Man Mk. XXI 'Midas Armor' in September. I like the all-gold look, & it'll be my first - & possibly ONLY - Revoltech IM figure. Unless they start crankin' out MORE obscure armor suits, like 'Bones' & 'Igor'...

I just got Gamera '67 and Rodan a few days ago and Baragon is stuck at the post office until Monday. These are my first Revoltech figures, but I gotta say they're pretty damn cool. Seeing all the exposed joints in pictures kinda put me off a little bit, but the detail and the accessories they come with are awesome. Too bad I joined the party a little late.

Baragon can still be had for pretty close to SRP, since he had a few production runs...

Yeah man. I'm looking to get Anguirus next, but DAMN. I know the prices for him are just gonna keep on going up unless he gets another production run, but I'm not sure if I'm willing to pay triple digits for an action figure.

Yet.

SHMA may bail you out on that front, but the Angy we're most likely to get at this point, is the Millennium one...

Hell, even if I was only remotely interested in an SHMA Millennium version I'd have to jump on it without thinking about it too long.

Yeah, the 'secret' is out... Thanks in large part to the new Godzilla movie, SHMA has more customers than ever, & pieces are selling out in much less time now...

I won't lie. The only reason I started collecting action figures again is strictly because of the new movie. I got the SHMA Godzilla '94 when it first came out a few years ago, and a couple Bandai vinyls too (the GMK Godzilla is still one of my most prized ones), but I honestly questioned why I bought those in the first place after a while. Now, after Godzilla 2014 came out and like, nine figures later in the span on two months, I question NOTHING. Just playing catch-up now.

^ I jumped back into it when Sci-Fi Revoltech first came out - Daimajin & Baragon, oh my! Then, Kaiyodo quit with the kaiju, & Tamashii Nations started up SH MonsterArts, & here we are today...

BUMP - and what a bump!

I thought it would happen someday, & it finally has. The Dark Lord of the Sith has finally become a Revoltech! Darth Vader, the FIRST out the gate in Star Wars Revoltech! Painted prototype images up at rebelscum.com.

Impressive. MOST impressive...

I'm late to the game of action figures, but I am also trying to play catch up on some levels-only getting figures I'm interested in. Having kids, and the new Godzilla movie re-triggered my inner child. Now, forgive my ignorance, But is Revoltech owned by Bandai as the Monsterarts figures are? Why did they open up a new line instead of keeping Revoltech? I know Revoltech is older. And besides, it's a much more concise name than "Bandai's Tamashii Nations S.H. Monsterarts"...

Kaiyodo is the company that owns the Revoltech line. They are pretty much done doing Kaiju. I believe all their Kaiju figures are long since out of production. Gigan and Anguirus being the most sought after.

Yah, Kaiyodo owns Revoltech & they are not affiliated with Bandai OR Tamashii Nations.

BTW, Stormtrooper, Boba Fett, C-3P0, & R2-D2 are supposed to be Revoltechs too. How R2-D2 is supposed to benefit from the Revoltech joint system is beyond me...

And with that, I put Darth Vader on preorder. I forgot that Revoltech was doing Star Wars figures.

That’s a great looking Vader, but the cape... yikes. I admire their vision of making it fully articulated, but the visible gaps and joints don’t look good IMO.

I'll wait and see how the FiguArts Vader will do and then decide. They will most likely give him an alternate, already posed cape.

But Sculpt-wise both look really good. I can say Revoltech nailed the mask and helmet, which isn’t a given on Vader-figures, if Tamashii cant get it done I might end up buying this instead.

Where'd you do that? At AmiAmi? I checked their price - it's about the same as Anime Island's prices...

EDIT: Articulation is Revoltech's 'thing' - I could never see them doing a cloth cape...

Boba Fett?
I can't wait to see what he'll look like.
Same here. A proto has not been displayed yet - just a teaser silhouette...

Not interested in Threepio or Artoo, but I am considering Vader & Stormie...

BUMP

As we got Baragon from "Frankenstein Conquers The World( US title )", I had hopes that we would see the Giant Frankenstein itself at some point. As SHMA seems reluctant to go into Showa, & the Giant Frankenstein was not even IN the recent Poll, I'd say that makes the chances of it making the SHMA cut just about non-existent. Wonder if they could get the rights from Toho?
