I focused much more on non-kaiju collectibles this past year. Also sold off a bunch of stuff I didn’t want anymore to fund my new purchases so I actually spent very little out of pocket this year. It was the largest clean-out I’ve ever done and it felt quite good. Still have some more stuff to part with but the holidays put eBay selling on hold and I haven’t had time to get back on it yet.

*wow! I didn’t realize it but the only kaiju purchases I’ve made for myself this year were the MMS Biollante and a copy of G-fan I stumbled across in a comic shop! I did, however, buy a decent pile of Mattel’s Jurassic World toys “for my kids”. Really, I swear, they’re for the kids! They’re in the kids playroom even!

**I technically got the Stormtrooper model in late 2017, but I spent the majority of 2018 slowly working on it and finished it in October, when it actually joined my collection display. So it feels like a 2018 addition.

Final thought: 2018 was the year of the 6 inch action figure for me. I started getting into them in 2017 but really went whole hog in 2018 building a near complete display of the Rogue One cast and also doubling down on Mafex DC figures. Also, hot toys 1/6 ESB Vader was a grail item for my collection and I spent a major portion of the year working on selling stuff on eBay to fund his purchase. It was like a quest, all the work I put in to getting him!
