So as the title says.

Would anyone here recommend it?

Great toy for kids, for collectors it's a massive figure. Why not?

Oh yeah. Like Chris said, it's a great toy for kids, and for collectors it's a massive figure.
If you have digital copy codes for movies you want to give away, I'll gladly take them! :)

Yes! For less than the price of a MonsterArts you get a one-of-a-kind show-stopping display piece. It's great for show and play (several kids have gotten to enjoy mine). :g2k:

Anyone know of a good place to buy it where it is cheap?

Hell yes, I would. Not only does it look great - IMO, one of the most accurate G14s out there, bar the reduced spines - it's widely available, and is a real great centerpiece. Doubt he'll stay so relatively cheap for long, too... he's gonna have a great aftermarket one day. Just look at past "large" figures.

If you're looking on-line be forewarned that there are bootlegs(!) of this massive figure out there as well. The most notable difference is the bootleg's immovable jaw (stuck in a permanent open position), whereas the Jakks has an articulated jaw. There are other differences (no swivel joint at the wrist being another obvious one), but the mouth is the clearest giveaway IMO.

Here's the bootleg:

^OMG those eyes are awful.
As others have mentioned, HELLZ YES he is worth it. I got mine just after the movie came out, and I love him. He is roughly 1/200 scale, so if you have any models or cars or things in that scale, they work well. I got a pack of 100 cars that are 1/200 scale, and they look great with him. I need to post more pics of him in my Size Comparison Fun thread with the 1/200 scale people I got too. They are TINY! Like the size of SHMA Kiryu's elbow plugs tiny, maybe even smaller.

Anyway, aside from 3 things: 1, his tail is a tad to short, but not by much, 2, his dorsal spines are too small and 3, the overall texture and detail on his body (especially the dorsal spines) is lacking, but he was $50 originally. Great price for a figure that is 21-22 inches tall, and over 40 inches long! Cheaper than nearly every SHMA ever made!

He musta thought it was a gun!
I liked Giant Condor and Gabara before it was cool to just sayin.

^I got mine at a Toys R Us for around $50; of course a week later I found it (no, them) at another for a little less.
$30 is an excellent price.

I remember I got mine for roughly $45 a few weeks before many others found it... went to a higher-end TRU far away. Managed to get the original "open box" version, not that there's any difference on the actual figure.

I recommend it, but you need to have space. It's a pretty huge figure, and if you're like me and don't have a good room to display it in, you'll have a bit of trouble (I got mine as a joke gift; I didn't intend to actually buy one for this reason).

I bought mine at Toys R Us on the first day of release for around $50, If I remember correctly. Later, the prices dropped to $40 and I was able to get a refund of the difference.

I'll second that. I kept mine in the box, largely because I had no place to display a 4 foot long action figure. I finally found a good place to display it in it's mini-fridge-sized box, but there weren't a lot of choices :)

$50 was the MSRP. Around Christmas was when K-Mart lowered their price to $25. I got mine when that happened.

Looks like this is basically the general Jakks' Godzilla thread already.

Mine is apart of my Christmas display this year... found a perfect little hat, and it had to be done.

Very much so. Jakks Godzilla is an incredible novelty figure to own. Mine still sits proudly next to my desk, and still looks bloody amazing. Surprisingly enough, bar the stubby dorsal fins, Jakks Godzilla is one of the most accurate representations of G14. He's definitely worth it, if for nothing else than to have a massive Godzilla in your collection.

OMG that bootleg is pretty awful.
Sadly, I must make you aware that anything I say is my opinion.

Contrary to popular belief, I did like Godzilla 2014

I can't begin to tell you how badly I wanted the bootleg at the time. The only reason I never bought one is because the sellers were all overseas, and I wouldn't pay their $30 to $50 shipping charges to have one sent to the USA. If anybody knows a place in the US that is selling them for less than $60 shipped please let me know!
