Monster Toy Spotlight #33: Orga

ebirahsmeg1 was really kind to consider me for starting the 33th Monster Toy Spotlight.
So I decided to do it about one of my favorite Toho kaijus from the Millenium era: Orga. Ironically enough, I don't own any Orga figure (I'm actually praying for a SHMA Orga to show up eventually, but I don't think it'll happen soon enough). I think this one looks rather cool, though, the Orga figure from the Toho Kaiju Series.

Really curious to see which Orga figures you have in your collection! :D

Not usually a fan of those type of figures but that's lovely!

G2K and Orga were actually my very first Japanese vinyls. God I miss Club Daikaiju.

Does anyone have the Cast Orga UFO (Partial Reveal / Final Version / Damaged version) and Cast Millennian figures (and if so, what's the best way to get my hands on them? Cast really makes some cool, unique stuff)?

^ CAST stuff is pretty tough to find. As I understand it, many of their runs are less than 250 pieces. I have a CAST meganuron that was part of a run of 50. You just have to luck into them for the most part.

On the candy toy side i have this little set which is pretty cool since Millennian alien and Orga UFO are rarely made into figures

and just for KaijuZoo... here's an exploded HG

Yeah, that's unfortunately what I figured. What a shame, as they make some really cool, unique little figurines.

Anyways, here are my Orga figures:

Bandai 6 inch (Never really liked this figure as the huge seam on its back is really distracting)

Does anyone have the Bandai Godzilla vs Orga Battler set? Despite the different scale (these are more along the lines of 8 inches, according to ClubTokyo), did they use the same molds from the 6 inch figures (I ask, because this Orga also has the ugly seam running down the middle of the back).

I have the battler set, and they are completely new sculpts. The Godzilla figure has no articulation aside from the tail, which is kind of unfortunate. Orga has articulation in his arms and tail, but is in much better scale IMO with the 6-inch figures.

I have the Bandai one. I'd owned G2K forever, but Orga was interesting because I had completely missed him, not even realizing there was a figure until it was pretty much too late (for a few years one could actually go back and grab the ones you missed before there'd be a huge price hike). It was one of the last Bandai vinyls I got because of that, when I'd find one used and on eBay in the $20 range.

I've since grown fond of it. Maybe it's the nostalgic factor kicking in now that I'm older (I was a kid when that movie came out) but Orga and G2K are like a fine wine; they just get better with age. :D

I was just getting ready for my Senior year of high school when Godzilla 2000 came out here in the states. :)

I need to get the Bandai one. It's a shame there aren't many figures of him since he is one of my favorite Kaijus.

Has there ever been a figure/statue/kit of Orga with the Godzilla mutation effects? Like the spikes, green skin, etc?
