Monster Toy Spotlight #2: GOROSAURUS

MONSTER SPOTLIGHT #2: GOROSAURUS
Choosing what kaiju for the next spotlight was tough (I was initially going to go with Mosu-Goji or Gigan), but I just love me some Gorosaurus. :g64: :monsterx: :g2k: :godzilla:

I own the old, classic 8 inch Bandai Gorosaurus figure, but unfortunately I don't have any real good photos of it, and it's back home stateside. Instead, I'll just post some photos of my amazing 25cm Gorosaurus figure, which I picked up earlier this year:

I'll nominate someone for the next thread at the end of the week...

Dang, already a thread where I have no figures to showoff in! I do really want a Marmit gorosaurus though since Gorosaurus is one of my favorites, but it seems hard to find. The X plus gorosaurus looks really nice.

I've always had a soft spot for Gorosaurus, but once again I'm lacking in the toy department here. Do Hedorah next, I have quite a few Hedorahs.

The Iwakura "Kangaroo Kick" Gorosaurus (clear ver.) and the Gashapon Gorosaurus (Chronicles 2). Both are pretty nice. The Iwakura figure always seemed too skinny to me, though.

The Bandai 8" figure has been near the top of my list for a long time now (I believe it's the only one I need for my Godzilla Island collection). Also have my eyes on the newer Y-MSF 6" Gorosaurus. Might be getting that one soon, actually.

I feel ya. I have nothing. There's several figures I'd love to get of him, but the prices. I'm always eyeballing the Bandai.
I will explain slowly why you are wrong.

Being my favorite monster, it's kind of shocking how little Gorosaurus figures I have.

The Bandai Gorosaurus vinyl is probably my favorite figure in my collection. The X-Plus probably outshines it in terms of screen-accuracy, but there's something so charming about this figure. I can't help but love it.

I also have this little SD Gorosaurus I got at G-FEST. It's made of a harder vinyl/rubber than normal SD figures, so it's probably from an obscure candy set.

I have a few more than I realized.

HG Gashapon (both the original and the Chronicles reissue), bottle cap figure, and the SD Gorosaurus. Sorry for the sprinkles, I just washed these guys off.

Gorosaurus is another big favorite of mine, and I do wish I had more toys of it. The X-plus is drool worthy.

I have this little Bullmark replica. I might have a smaller, candy toy of Gorosaurus as well but as far as I know this was pretty much the only Gorosaurus that I had. A different paint variant but the same mold. They're only about 3-4 inches in height, but what did I care back when they came out? As long as I had one figure of every Godzilla character we were all good!

I don't have a ton of Gorosaurus, but I do have this essential.

Truly one of the best Bandai figures.

...and I can't find a better picture than this old one right now, but here's my Marmit MH Goro, another favorite.

I decided to honor the true meaning of Christmas - spending lots of money. In this case, a Bandai 8" Gorosaurus. Been waiting for a cheap one to pop up for five years and it took too long. Paid more than I'd ever wanted to, but it comes with a Gamakujira, which helped win me over. Finally. Super excited to get it.

Now a question - does anyone have both the Bandai and the Y-MSF Goro? Can I get a comparison picture? If not, can I at least get a picture of the Y-MSF with a 6" Bandai figure (any would do).

Awesome Gorosaurus pics...keep 'em coming folks!

Well, it's getting close to the end of the work week, and I'm not sure if I'll have time to post during the weekend, so I'll list my nominee for the next Monster Toy Spotlight...*drum roll*....

Because he's one of the collectors who came up this great idea several years ago on MZ/SciFi Japan. I look forward to seeing what kaiju you choose.

Finally. One of my most-wanted figures. Also now holds the distinction of being the costliest vinyl in my collection. But it was worth it.

Gorgeous figure.

The Bandai Gorosaurus, a true classic indeed. One of my all time favorite figures....and despite how amazing the Xplus 25cm Gorosaurus is, I just can't find it in my heart to part with the original Bandai figure. Comparing Bandai's variety of kaiju they put out back then to what they're doing nowadays makes me very sad indeed.

Here is an online review in regards to the classic Bandai 8 inch line:
