You notice the 2nd one bares way more of a resemblance to the Escapes Kong.

I'm going to go way out on a limb and say that was the intent.

@KNM

What's the story on the Tokyo Tower Mechanikong and... gorilla? The "kong" is unrelated, I'm guessing.

I think a lot of people underestimate the Raymundo King Kong 1962. It really is a fantastic figure with a great resemblance to the actual suit. The mold itself captures the goofy nature of the suit and fills in my collection nicely. I do think it is a little pricey but I am happy with it. Now only if NECA would make a 62 Goji and I would be happy!!! I can post pics of King Kong but I cant figure out how, just tell me and I'll try.

Yep. Jomei is correct. It's Apes Gorilla knock off with the intent of being Toho 62 and 67 suit.

The Gorilla on the Marusan Tokyo Tower is by Butanohana which use the license from the show Go! Greenman to do the 67 Kong suit. It's from a episode that aired in 1973 which actually uses the 67 Kong suit. But in the show they simply called it Gorilla for obvious reason of not wanting to pay license. The 67 Kong suit by 1973 had deteriorated and had some damage that the crew did a lot of repairs on it.

I own the 1993 Bandai one with a tag in great condition. Just out of curiosity how exactly rare is it?

Hi, does anyone think there will be figures for Skull Island? I know NECA sadly won't be doing any, but hopefully another company does!

I fail to see how they would be any "toys" big enough to suit Kong.

Maybe. I guess we'll know soon enough, though I don't think we'll get many of them.

Considering Randy has said something before only for the opposite to happen we may still see a Neca Skull island Kong.

New figures announced! Sadly, they don't seem to be the best.
