I found this disgustingly grotesque King Kong plush in a bin in the gargage. He has a shimmer to him, almost like velvet, but only the face is hard plastic. It's from the 2005 movie from what I can tell. Anyone know what/who it's from?

I do, but not really in a good way. I've always really disliked those cheap, gimmicky toys, even if they're aimed at kids. Guess it's just a personal thing... I much prefer more general, less specific figures.

Man oh man, I had that first one as a kid. Peter Jackson's King Kong conveniently came just in time for Christmas. Funny enough, I remember there being an entire aisle of those things at this sketchy local wholesale/discount store a few months later as well. I kid you not, like 100+ Kongs. It was like that Buzz Lightyear scene in Toy Story 2.

Found 'Em!!! The Helicopter w/ Pilot set, & the Attack Boat w/ Pilot were both at the Huntsville TX Wal-Mart today! $15 each, not bad at all. No big apes to be seen, but I imagine they'll pop up soon...

What we got was good, but yeah, more of a full-on kid's line might've been smart. More like the destruction zone, less like the dumb gimmick toys.

I'm actually really liking that Kong. He's probably gonna be the 'must have' figure for this movie, unless Bandai has any surprises with MMS/SHMA.

i really like him a lot. feels a little brittle but not too bad. my only real gripe is the legs dont move but the feet do.

Those two scale perfectly if you ask me. That Kong really looks great next to the Jakks Godzilla. I'll definitely pick up one now. That Kong and Godzilla are scaled roughly similar as they were in 62.
