I do, but not really in a good way. I've always really disliked those cheap, gimmicky toys, even if they're aimed at kids. Guess it's just a personal thing... I much prefer more general, less specific figures.bczilla91 wrote: Anybody else get a 90s vibe from this line?

Re: King Kong Toys
Man oh man, I had that first one as a kid. Peter Jackson's King Kong conveniently came just in time for Christmas. Funny enough, I remember there being an entire aisle of those things at this sketchy local wholesale/discount store a few months later as well. I kid you not, like 100+ Kongs. It was like that Buzz Lightyear scene in Toy Story 2.MandaSaurus wrote:My gf says that plushie would scare a kid...G1985 wrote:Does it look like any of the Kong plushes in these auctions?Grunkle Sans wrote:I found this disgustingly grotesque King Kong plush in a bin in the gargage. I now have a reason to actually check my Walmart's toy section and not just glance through it.MandaSaurus wrote:NEWS: The Kong: Skull Island toys will be available at Wal-Mart only in the US, Smyth's only in the UK.

As expected, based on their quality. A bit weird they're not gonna hit TRU, but hey, maybe other companies will spring up.MandaSaurus wrote:NEWS: The Kong: Skull Island toys will be available at Wal-Mart only in the US, Smyth's only in the UK.

Found 'Em!!! The Helicopter w/ Pilot set, & the Attack Boat w/ Pilot were both at the Huntsville TX Wal-Mart today! $15 each, not bad at all. No big apes to be seen, but I imagine they'll pop up soon...

That means I might actually find them unlike the 2014 toys.MandaSaurus wrote:NEWS: The Kong: Skull Island toys will be available at Wal-Mart only in the US, Smyth's only in the UK.

Unless you don't have a Wal-Mart near you - which is kinda hard, in the US...g2vd wrote:That means I might actually find them unlike the 2014 toys.MandaSaurus wrote:NEWS: The Kong: Skull Island toys will be available at Wal-Mart only in the US, Smyth's only in the UK.

Dare I say I really like this toy line and wish we could've gotten some human/vehicles with the Godzilla 2014 line?

What we got was good, but yeah, more of a full-on kid's line might've been smart. More like the destruction zone, less like the dumb gimmick toys.bczilla91 wrote:Dare I say I really like this toy line and wish we could've gotten some human/vehicles with the Godzilla 2014 line?

I'm actually really liking that Kong. He's probably gonna be the 'must have' figure for this movie, unless Bandai has any surprises with MMS/SHMA.

Re: King Kong Toys
Those two scale perfectly if you ask me. That Kong really looks great next to the Jakks Godzilla. I'll definitely pick up one now. That Kong and Godzilla are scaled roughly similar as they were in 62.
