New figures announced! Sadly, they don't seem to be the best.

Glad to see Kong getting such an extensive line after G'14 got mostly only cheap gimmick figures.

Probably will grab the large Kong figure (depending on the price), and maybe those monster sets depending on how I feel about the actual movie. Wish they were a bit nicer quality, but as mass-produced kids toys, they're fine.

I've seen figures extremely similar to those ones (the human figures), which have included the exact same weapons, at Job Lot and Wal-Mart for a few years, pus i've seen some of those things before (the smaller boat) at Goodwills. And I had some of those figures at one point, which I must say were not too good.

No, and if I didn't value my eyesight so much, I'd bleach my eyes so I never had to see that shit again.[/quote]

All of the humans are repainted figures from Lanard's The Corps line, with a few new head sculpts.

I had so many Corps/GI Joes as a kid. Coincidentally, I made them battle my 90s Kong figure.

Knew I recognized those shitty little things. Still, it's a children's line, so I'm not exactly devastated. The monsters look nice enough, and might be the only MMS/6" scale versions we get.

At least they bothered to do new head sculpts to make those two look a bit like Jackson and Hiddleston.

Kong vs The Corps, eh? Merian C. Cooper must be spinning in his grave...

Seriously, that big Kong fig doesn't look too bad. Think I'll pick one up. The rest, nope...

I'm thinking about just getting Kong too so I can put him with my Jakks Pacific Godzilla.

Exactly. Besides, iI'm not a huge fan of Kong as a character, so I figure I may as well get the most cool figure around for the new movie (which actually looks pretty great) than nothing at all.

One Kong for me... i mean my kid... not really mostly for me. I already have the Jakks G14 ... I mean he does so I can play with them. I mean we....maybe.

I just noticed that the 18" Kong figure only sports articulation in his arms. The head, body and legs are all static.

(Added later)

The shoulder and wrists look like swivel joints. The elbows are double jointed.

Looks like the ankle might have a joint, which honestly would be pointless.
I will explain slowly why you are wrong.

Kinda looks like the head has a joint at the neck, too... look how dark the shadow is beneath it.

I get the impression that Lanard was given barely any time/budget for this line.

That Kong hardly looks any worse than the Jakks Godzilla.

I found this disgustingly grotesque King Kong plush in a bin in the gargage. He has a shimmer to him, almost like velvet, but only the face is hard plastic. It's from the 2005 movie from what I can tell. Anyone know what/who it's from? :P

Already planning on getting the 18 inch Kong. I'll skip on the vehicle packs, but the other monster ones... I'm undecided. On one hand, I'd like to have them. On the other hand, the room they'll take up.

I actually went out to Walmart and looked at their Corps line of toys....these monsters are actually going to be a pretty good size judging by the pictures!

Again I know it's aimed at kids...but I am actually happy with this toy line. It's giving us the 4 key things fans want in a toy line

-Humans
-Vehicles
-Playsets
-Creatures

Anybody else get a 90s vibe from this line?
