Heat the vinyl around the slots, insert wings, vinyl cools, wings trapped.

I also reinforced the tabs with a layer of tape, to prevent them from snapping if they got bumped, as they're prone to do.

About a year ago me and my friend Greg took a trip to our friend Rob's house in Brooklyn, since he was selling his collection and invited us by to check it out. I ended up coming home with around 25 different Ultramonsters that day. Today we went back into Brooklyn to pay him another visit, and I came home with these guys...

Image

1991 Namegon, 1991 Kilazee, 1994 Gudon, original 1996 Golza, another 1991 Baltan and...ummm...what's his name again?

Either way, Namegon and Kilazee bring me even closer to finishing off the 1991-1993 line. Only King Joe and Takkong to go. Of course like I said it's tough to find an undamaged original King Joe. Meanwhile, while Monster Empire lists Takkong as number 41, the Figure-Oh Bandai Ultraman magazine doesn't picture it and skips 41 entirely. What gives? Anyone know what a 1991-release Takkong even looks like?

Are you absolutely sure it was actually released? Does anyone have a photo of it?

EDIT: Is this it?

So you buy multiples of the same mold? What if it's not a drastic color variation? Do you buy it? Where do you draw the line?

Anyhoo grabbed my second MISB Spacegodzilla today. Preordered my MISB Moguera as well. Two Red Kings and one Max. My God it's gonna be an expensive year. I'll need a second shelf before long!

Yes.

If it's from a different release year/monster line, yes.

Where do you draw the line?

On paper. Preferably with a ruler, so it's straighter.

Alright then. I can understand the mindset of buying multiples... I do it with all my SHM figures. One in the box, one to pose. Some of those Bandais almost look like Bullmarks. Golza and Gudon in particular.

Pre-ordered The SDCC SHMA Burning Godzilla off of ebay for £144. Yeah sure the price is steep to the point where some say it is a rip off. But knowing that someone will buy a bunch just to over price them even more I would rather take the plunge now. It is going to happen, Just like with the web exclusives.

You have more guts than me dude.

That's the price I'd pay for a larger X-Plus figure, but for a six inch MonsterArts figure? Count me out! :freak:
Like I said in the other thread, I am just going to wait till the day comes that they release and if there are any selling on Ebay, perhaps at a lower price than what you paid, then certainly I'll go for it, but for $180 something dollars? No thanks.

Plus, I'm not that trustworthy with ebay when it comes to preorders. I never know when I may be scammed.

Thats understandable. And I am sure the X-Plus will be worth it :).

That's true. At least one of us will be getting Burning G.
I'll be just as happy with the X-Plus Godzilla 1989 too.

...Come to think of it, both figures are similarly priced!

Thanks to user in_the_seance, I'm proud to announce that the X-Plus Iris EX figure is finally mine. And at a great price too.

Now my Heisei Gamera collection consists of:

Rocket Pro Gamera 95
Sega Gyaos 99
X-Plus Legion
X-Plus Trauma Gamera
Sega Gamera 99
X-Plus Iris EX

So I got the best figure of every villain I can get really, and got a pretty good selection of Gameras. Missing a Gamera 2, but haven't found a decent sized figure that's done it justice yet imo. CPP stuff is amazing, but goes for way too much.

So can anyone think of any other Heisei Gamera stuff that would fit into my collection that I'm missing? If you couldn't tell I'm only going after the more realistic-looking stuff that's at least 6"

You know, I appreciate that they want these figures to look as much like a rubber suit as possible, but I can't be the only one who thinks this one takes it a bit too far, right?

They're taking the artificiality well beyond the actual quirks of the suit, in my opinion. It never looked that phony to me on film, especially the crinkled-up wings.

Yeah, I'm just not feeling that mold at all.

Rodan's wings in general are in drastic need of a redesign anyway.

it is a bit over-board, but I don't mind. I definitely think they were using page 68 in the pictorial book of godzilla vol 2 (i don't have a scanner) as one of their reference images though.
