Asses everywhere fear the kick of this mighty MechaGodzilla!

I had always sort of wanted one, but it wasn't a huge priority for me or anything. Then I actually got to handle the toy not long ago, and seeing it in person was all it took; suddenly I just had to have it. Now I'm sitting here looking at this guy, and I can't believe I waited so long to buy one! Simply having a Garuda that mounts to the body with no hassle is reason enough to recommend it, and I love the lights in the head.

According to Vinyl Madness, there's a walking Godzilla of roughly the same size. I don't own it, I'm not big on the whole moving-figures thing. Here's a pic courtesy of Vinyl Madness, though:

I bet he looks incredible in person. Nice score, CDra!

And he's a simple addition to my collection, but I've been waiting for a decent price on this old guy and I must say the market was recently flooded with them. I had to own the original 8" scale of my favorite kaiju! He's great, I love the older Bandais.

Image
He's just a hair bigger than the later 6" Bandais, though.

I've always questioned why the 2001 Bandai Angilas figure has foreward-facing eyes like that. The sculpt is already pretty cartoony, but those eyes really don't help.

The figure is full of liberties, for sure. I've never understood the scales either. That 2001 Ang is the first Bandai I ever bought, though. He holds a special place in my collection!

I like the original Angy the best of the Bandai versions, although that could be because he was one of my first Japanese Godzilla toys, along with Gigan and MechaGodzilla '74. I got them around the time that the Trendmasters were out, and the comparison just blew my mind.

Whether I'm biased by nostalgia glasses or not, I think it's still a great vinyl. Nice score UnCanny!

I love the figure too, mainly for nostalgia reasons. That said, I hope they don't reissue it anymore.

Agreed, we've seen it enough. At this point, were Bandai to produce a new line of classic monster vinyls, I would expect a much higher standard of accuracy from them.

The Heisei Godzilla, Angilas, Space Godzilla and King Seasar are figures that - off the top of my head - need to be retired if and when Bandai starts a new vinyl series.

I just want the gray scale memorial box version and I'll be satisfied with the Bandais of Anguirus. I mean... theres just so many other Angs to collect :huge:

And oh yes, I'd kill for a new Bandai King Caesar or Showa Ang. Neither one has received justice.

There have been some great Showa Angilas figures. Just not from Bandai.

Exactly my point with the photo above. My MMH Showa Ang will always be my favorite figure of the character. He's my ideal figure of Anguirus.

You've seen the Marmit kit, Aoshima figures and the X-Plus right?

:huge: Of course, and I'll own them someday. But I used the word "ideal" on purpose. He's not the most accurate or impressive figure of Ang ever sculpted, but he's my favorite. To me the MMH captures everything I love about Anguirus.

The Monster Heaven is beautiful, though I would have preferred a crawling stance.

The Para Baby Angillas '55 is one of my favorites figs in recent memory. The kind of crazed-looking eyes really do it for me.

There's one on ShoppingMallJapan right now for a good price, but I feel like that place is going to end up costing me $60 on top of anything once all the fees and shipping adds up. Have you ever bought from them?

He's a cool little dude, I like the colors on him as well. The Showa PB Ang released in '04 is similar to the MMH Ang, just half the size and in the crawling stance you'd prefer:

I just bought the Garuda MonsterArts pack for a stupid amount of money. I'm sorry.

I feel like they're going to be pretty pricey on ebay though once they come out too. Probably more than what I paid.

 I love that you're apologizing. Let us know if such a sorry is necessary when you receive it.

And I literally JUST received this package at my front door. I'm a happy camper:

He's a beast! I love Baltan, and I must say this giant clear BP Vinyl is fantastic. here's another shot for a better idea of scale:

I missed an auction on that Baltan once. It's a cool figure, and I hope to get one someday.
