Mods don't seem to approve me posting your instant JPEG doritos here, so take my written thanks for now. :P

I''m really happy with NECA, but the suspense of seeing the G'14 one is killing me. Hope that March/merch storm will work out fine.

Now back to sleep.

It looks pretty good. Pretty comparable to the MonsterArts version. NECA did well. I had no idea that Godzilla 1985 was coming too though, pretty interesting choice. Thanks for the news Chris. :)

Not feeling it. Even more so since I have the SHMA G94. I'm way more interested in the G84 from NECA.
I will explain slowly why you are wrong.

Interesting that they announce 1994 AND 1984 together. Kinda makes me wonder if they are in fact gonna keep going back in time every ten years and eventually do the 1974, 1964, and 1954 figures.

If they were doing that they would have started with finaro-goji

O.k not to sound like a dick....But, that is too unappealing for me. The face, skin texture, hands and overall color (My Opinion) it sucks. Now maybe if I were to look at other images then.....

The 1985 design has some what waned on me over the years. Sometimes I like it, at others I don't. There are some unflattering angles...But I look forward to seeing the figure.

Jomei wrote:What's the MSRP on this again? I feel like we should include that in the OP to give some context for people trying to make SHMA comparisons and such--so we can at least also consider their relative price points when they came out.
I thought someone said it was $20 range? I can't see it being more than $30. SHMA are grossly overpriced given their size and despite all the gripes mentioned here about color accuracy and sculpt, this looks like a viable alternative at likely lower than half the cost of your average monsterarts Godzilla.

Everything looks perfect. Just improve the eyes with a little more detail, and I was expecting more bulk on the thighs for a screen accurate look because he's looking like 92' with lean legs.

I'm also curious as to how durable this Godzilla is going to be. NECA has a nasty track record of figures just falling apart for no reason. HOWEVER, the lower price point makes possible figure breakage not much of a loss (still sucks) as compared to the SHMAs.

Ugh, I think ~$55 USD. The MSRB was listed as 5500 yen.

I dig it. I'm glad it doesn't look exactly like the SHMA version too. Would of been boring in my opinion if so. I'm so excited for the '84 Goji! One of my all time favorite suits.
Stegosaurus: Yes... yes. This is a fertile land, and we will thrive. We will rule over all this land, and we will call it... This Land.
T-Rex: I think we should call it... your grave!
Stegosaurus: Ah! Curse your sudden but inevitable betrayal!
T-Rex: Ha ha ha! Mine is an evil laugh! Now DIE!
Stegosaurus: Oh no, God, oh dear God in heaven...

This is true, it seems they do better with creatures that have a lot of mass. More slender figures tend to have problems.

I think as long as the '84 Goji is a little bit more of a charcoal grey color, everything should be okay.

Why? Does the fate of the world rest on the color scheme for G84?

There's nothing wrong with the grey color for me either. Don't see why it has to be anything else. :?

*looks at pictures of Godzilla 1984*

Well because that's what color he is.

EDIT: By the way... Chris, do you know anything about a estimated release date for these figures?
