Randy has informed me that NECA would be releasing a limited edition 30 inch Godzilla 2000 but Toho has kidnapped and is forcing him to answer all the fan submitted scripts

He says if you want it/want him free, please PM your social security number, the numbers on your credit card, the expiration date, and the 3 numbers on the back to me as soon as you can.

Come on guys. Randy needs us.

RIP Evan.

The Shin Godzilla reissue has been spotted at Target, don't know if the atomic variant is also out there

I just got the 1962 reissue with the new paint scheme tonight. Wow, what a night and day difference between the old and new one is. The new one is leaps and bounds better then the first release. It is definitely worth picking up.

Yes, I have seen the "new" 2nd version 1962 in store. The mouth looks inproved in that the jaw closes very tight together from what I could see in the box. Surprising and unexpected that Neca would rework and repaint or do a better paint job on a figure so soon after first release. Too bad I'm an early adopter. While I still think the first version is great, this is an improvement.

I wonder if I got the new one?

I bought two when they came out (one to keep in box), but then last month I gave the boxed one to my GF's son and bought another one to replace it but I didn't really look all that close at it. I wonder if it's got a new paint job? I remember glancing at it and nothing jumped out at me, but I just closed the flap and put it on the shelf behind the unboxed one that's on display.

Anything in particular I can look at in box to see if it's one of the newer repaints?

I only saw the figure in the box at Target. The paint is a matte finish as opposed to the gloss on mine. The dorsal plate edges had less paint and not as bright. More in line with the 1964 figure. And the jaw had a tight close together top and bottom. Mine cannot close that completly. It looked more screen accurate.
Someone who actually has the 2.0 version could answer better.

I saw the Shin at my local target. Also had a burning Godzilla, which shouldn't be surprising at this point. God, that box art is fucking glorious though.

Yes, the 1962 re-release is really great.

Did the 1994 Ultimate version get this sort of treatment, or is it basically the same as the first release?

Unfortunately, I think it's pretty much the same or the differences are not nearly as drastic as the ones between the two 62 releases.

No real news to talk about. We are getting at least one new reveal at ToyFair. So expect more activity when it rolls around. NECA is in a spot where they can only do Millennium and Showa Godzilla designs now as their 94 is so generic it covers pretty much all the Heisei designs ouside if maybe 89. Whatever they reveal it’s gonna be a Big thing. As it’s either gonna be a design SHMA haven’t done yet or it’ll one that SHMA has done but it’s stupid expensive on the after market. No matter the outcome we win.

A film-accurate G2000 strikes me as a good idea for NECA.
