NECA Godzilla Discussion Thread - 2nd Edition

Hey guys, so I was looking thru my Godzilla Collectible Books (because I have nothing better to do haha) and I came across a picture of the old Aurora Model Kit box and thought "Oh man, I wish I still had mine". Then I got to thinking, NECA likes to do figures based on older toys like they do with their Alien and Predator line. So what what about this? I actually think it would be cool. I'm not much for repaints and variants (as many of you know) but I actually would be excited if NECA was able to pull something like this off. We ain't gonna be getting a Marvel or Hanna-Barbara anytime soon so this might be the next best thing. What do you all think? Do you think NECA would do a figure based off this? If so, would you buy it?

I don't think Toho would approve it to be honest. If they would, I'm not sure it's a popular enough design to warrant a release.

Every month you can order standard Lootcrate or the DX Lootcrate. The DX follows the same theme but is more expensive and has better items in it. Whole action figures show up in the DX version of each month's crate, so if you want RG Godzilla you will have to order the DX version of March's crate. Does that help you?

Yeah, definitely the DX one. If you get the regular Loot Crate box, you'll end up with Predator, Overwatch and Jurassic World stuff.

DX is Kong, Predator and Godzilla. I can provide the link again if anyone needs it, but I posted it a page or two ago.

Oh, I was looking on the website, thanks, that's great to hear, I figured Wolverine and I love the Predator franchise so those two were exciting, I don't even know what Overwatch is but Jurassic World is also exciting.

It's an awesome video game. There's a lot of porn about it though. I looked up "overwatch" on Google and scrolled down a bit to see some pictures of the female heroes in sexual poses. That's how easy it is to find them.

I actually have never heard of this, looks cool. But im not sure if Toho would allow it. Honestly I would want a Marvel Godzilla instead, but I would buy this too.

Question - Do we know for sure that this Godzilla will be in next month's DX shipment? For some reason I thought LootCrates were somehow 'random'. Wouldn't wanna blow money and not get ol' chocolate mint... like, is there a possibility it could be the figure, or a shirt, or smething like that?

SHIN GODZILLA

One particular image worth noting here. While not painted, you can see that the small claws on the outside of his foot are sculpted there, even looks like the tiny ones between his toes on the top of the foot, glad either we couldn't see these before, or NECA went back and further updated their figure.

Still not big on Shin's head. It's not exactly terrible or anything but it just looks off to me for some reason. Maybe it's just the gap between the head and the neck. I thought the initial sculpt looked better myself. Still it's not bad for the money.

We don't. I would have to assume it is though. NECA has a Loot Crate exclusive figure, this DX shipment has a Godzilla theme. And the DX is designed to be higher up than the normal.

Loot Crates are only random in that you don't know what you are getting; everyone gets the same in their crate, though, if that makes sense. We just happen to be lucky and know this figure exists.

I think it's a very safe assumption. I would LOVE to confirm it myself, but when I reached out to NECA about which Loot Crate it was in I was told to ask them. So...

Well, you can't fault NECA for not being able to answer, I'm sure Loot Crate just talked to them and gave them a production deadline but didn't specify when, probably to allow themselves room for delays, what if something for this March box weren't ready in time and they wanted to push it to April?
