I stopped collecting Ultra monsters before the 500 line was introduced, but I do have a couple.
My favorite is the 2000 tag Bandai Telesdon, which was one of the first ones I ever bought. Other childhood favorites include the 2000 releases of Antlar, Neronga and Gazote (which were painted differently than the later issues).

^ The 2000 Telesdon & Antlar sculpts are definitely not the best figures, but I'd kill to own them tagged.

Well I cut the tags, unfortunately (I mean, I played with my figures as a kid) but I did keep them aside.
They may not have been the best figures, but they got a lot of play out of them and were practically indestructible. The vinyl was squishier and thicker than the Bandai Godzilla line (I guess because younger children played with Ultraman) for the 2000 tag series.

I love how squishy the figures are, myself. And the tags? I keep them stored in the boxes for my Ultra Hero figures, organized in terms of canonocity.

I remove my tags, but I keep them in an empty Family Guy Trivial Pursuit box (which I never played :? )
I've been tempted to reattach them, but I feel like the tags would take up more room on my shelfs.

Oooh, I see. I remove the tags immedeately from the figures. :p

Anyone feel a bit disappointed about the lack of Ultraman Taro/Leo/80 Kaiju, though?

I wouldn't have minded if Bandai made a Mechagiras figure (The first kaiju to steal Gigan's roar).

Zatan Silver, Ho and Gomora II would be great as well. If Silver Bloome, Red and Black Gilas and various saucer kaiju were made, I'd show more interest in Leo's kaiju roster.

I think the bigger Dino Tank was based on an older mould from the 90s or 80s... idk.

Nope, that's the Yamanaya Dino-Tank, it's their own sculpt.

I've seen their figures on Club tokyo. I honestly have no idea why Bandai didn't use a similar technique of using leg articulation for the Ultras.

Welp, it's August, and it's time to hunt for Jack and Gudon.

Jirass! Love this figure, really great one.

I've never really regularly collected these figures, but I do have a few dozen. Most of which are Baltan... I like Baltan.

I really like this blue "clone" Baltan in particular, it's some kind of exclusive.

I'm a little miffed at the Ultra 500 line for taking over this series, but it's becoming a lot easier to find older figures now on eBay.

Still can't find that goddamn Max Gomora figure...

It's a scene from a popular show.

And honestly? I don't really care. If it offends you, don't look at it.

EDIT: Nevermind, found a better one.

Welp, change of plans. Japansmile's listing of Jack, Gudon and countles other monsters has expired again. So this month, I'm buying Zoffy, and possibly Zetton.

Are 6-inch Ultraman characters still available, or did they end the run when they introduced the 500 line? I figured it was out with the old and in with the new but I'm not sure.

I think they still are available, but if they really want to phase it out for Ultra 500, then they darn well better get a better paint job on their figures. Jack and 80 speak for themselves quite well in this respect.
