What is the easiest to find scale that will look good with my Heisei 6" Godzilla? 1/700 scale seems too hard to come across.

it depends on how close to the actual scale you want to get.
This is what n-scale (around 1/150) looks like with SHMA G2K:

I will be glad to delete this image if need be, but just wanted to show what this scale looks like with the figure.

I saw those, but they would make the figures look too large.

I just happen to be picky about it since I'm from Manhattan

Cool skreeonken thread.

I always look for war model buildings because they made to look destroyed by warfare, search for ruined building model on ebay.

I just recently bought a cd on ebay that contains 150 papercraft buildings including an abandoned city for $20. You can alter the buildings in photoshop if you want a custom city. You just print them out on cardstock, cut, fold and glue.

Tomytec has some good miniature people figures as well that look more animated than the others like people running or people just looking up into the sky.

Here's a cool airport set for those of you who want your monsters and robots duking it out on the runways. :D
http://www.amazon.com/Daron-Delta-8cm-A ... irport+set

Gives you a mat, terminal, hangar, control tower, plane and a few other things. Going to pick this up soon enough. Could re-enact scenes from Godzilla vs Destoroyah or whatever goes down in that airport scene in Godzilla we saw in the trailer :D

I don't know why but I'm much more fond of giant monsters fighting in airports. I think it's just the wide amount of open space and the scale it gives when you have these massive aircrafts that are completely dwarfed by these giants!

I could definitely get behind that. This thread will be great for those who want to display.

Check out something else I found: http://www.microformmodels.com/catpages/11.html.
These are more for those interested in dioramas than buildings.

Now THIS is a thread I've been looking for!

For Japanese model buildings, I think that Tomytec is by far the best looking for Godzilla films (that's what I looked for when building a majority of the sets for my Godzilla fan film, which payed tribute to the 1960s series of films. Tomytec carried everything I was looking for, and more). Another good source for getting model structures and whatnot would be modelpower.com
http://www.modelpower.com/Default.asp
While these buildings are more of the classic 1950s American-type of style, they look great and are easy to acquire. I've used several of these for my fan film as well.

My favorite type of miniature set is actually having grass and trees; like the wild. For me, these sets were a lot easier to construct and looked a WHOLE lot better on camera. Incorporating small houses and trees really makes them look fantastic.

This is just a shot from my movie below to show what I mean.

This thread is genius and an excellent idea - well done Plexton! :)

It is my intention to make dioramas for my Monsterarts figures and for the 12" tall Godzilla 2014 by Neca. This thread will be be a useful resource for many collectors on here.

Do you think it should be a sticky? I think it is important enough.

This building forum has a creative section filled with custom made scale models. This is where I got the buildings I used in my edited photos.

Are there any 1:700, 1:600 or 1:400 scale buildings there? :)

I'm not entirely sure how many scales are in here.

That would work at first glance...but closer inspection with the door frame heights, etc. would make G2K more of Kong 33 size. the green building on the left for example shows that Godzilla is only 4 or 5 stories high, despite his 50M height.

I can already tell good scaling is going to be a pain in the skreeonk.
