Some relatively inexpensive sets here. Unpainted, but sometimes that's better. Cheaper, and easy to fix.

Re: City Diorama / Buildings for Kaiju Figures
There are plenty of free diorama online, you print them on cardstock at any size and just fold and glue the pieces.LazerWhale wrote:Any cheap/free diorama pieces in the 1/400 1/350 scale?
For example this site: http://www.modeltrainsoftware.com/freebuilding.html
Whats cool is that you can customize it anyway you want, smash it, burn it and if you mess up, you can always print some more.
Google cardstock buildings and indulge the beauty at less of the cost of a resin diorama.

"That 1/350 scale Osaka castle would be perfect scale for the 24" NECA Godzilla."
If you're aiming for authenticity assuming a 50 meter Godzilla, 1/350 would not be even remotely correct it would put godzilla at 5.6" not 24"....to be correct to scale at 50 meters for a 24" figure it would be between H0 Scale, 20mm, and 00 Gauge Scale (I'd just pick whatever is easier and or cheaper to obtain)
Assuming a 80 meter Godzilla, 1/350 would not be correct either it would put godzilla at 8.9" not 24"....to be correct to scale at 80 meters for a 24" figure it would be between 1:144 Scale and TT Gauge Scale (I'd just pick what ever is easier or cheaper to obtain)
Assuming a 100 meter Godzilla, 1/350 would not be correct either it would put godzilla at 11.2" not 24"....to be correct to scale at 100 meters for a 24" figure it would be between N Gauge Scale and 1:192nd Scale (I'd just pick what ever is easier or cheaper to obtain)
So no matter which size you'd be making your Godzilla (50,80, or 100 meters) he'd be too large in all of them at 1/350
@Ill Green
I agree that paper buildings have their place, are decent for background buildings in a scene, to fill in backline gaps, for gaming, fan made movies, and your wallet , not great for professional photography, authenticity, OCD perfectionists, pro hobbyists, people with incredibly high standards, or highly detailed scenery for games though...

Re: City Diorama / Buildings for Kaiju Figures
Flemw, I think they're talking about the NECA 24" head-to-tail figure, which is 12" tall, and thus is almost exactly 1/350th the size of Goji'14 (who is 355'/108 meters tall in his default stance).
Everyone, thank you for the links. Maybe one day I'll have a display for my figure to cause havoc in, myself.

I hear you but what Lazerwhale wanted was a nice city backdrop to display his collection and for free and perhaps to flaunt pics here and facebook. Creativity is very powerful don't underestimate it. Most our favorite films were made on a low budget.flemw1234 wrote: @Ill Green

Re: City Diorama / Buildings for Kaiju Figures
I can't actually "flaunt" pics. Anywhere. I have several things in my life, such as a sheep's skull, and a model Spock head. What I do not have is a camera, yet. You are right, though. I just want to give Goji a home, and I can't spend much money. That may not always be the case, but for now, my desires are simple ones. Also, thank you for referring to me by my username. Makes me feel like I'm welcome here.

I'm not familiar with the figure ...but anytime i hear a measurement i assume top of head height -shrugs-.....but yeah working out the scale it is indeed closest to 1/350 at 108 meters...head-to-tail is pretty useless for determining scale..sorry but an actual 24" head height is what I had in mind...my mistake
"hear you but what Lazerwhale wanted was a nice city backdrop to display his collection and for free and perhaps to flaunt pics here and facebook. Creativity is very powerful don't underestimate it. Most our favorite films were made on a low budget."
Well cheap or free, i figured your comment was sort of a general statement even though it was directed towards LazerWhale....and trust me when i say that i've made due long enough to know that anything can be turned into a city, especially on low budget i'm just at an age myself, where if i paid a lot for the figures, might as well not be cheap on the surrounding territory and do these monsters justice...to each his/her own not intended to offend..

If you want cheap and free dioramas make your own. I make mine by pictures and movies and scale them to the 94 s.hma goji. I use thin styrene a hobby knife, ruler and a steady hand...also patience. Wish I could post the pics but no camera...though I'll try later.

Do anyone know what the Ultra-Act Stage Diorama is called? If so, can someone sent me a link to it. Thanks !

Re: City Diorama / Buildings for Kaiju Figures
If someone could put together a brief cheat sheet of how tall a few of the scales make the Heisei SHMA figures, I'd really appreciate it.
It seems like 1/700 is the closest to the movies, but 1/450 might be easier to find and would make the monsters look large (70 meters?).
Is that correct?

Any tips on which scale to get for Ultra-Act Series? I am planning to display a scene of Ultraman Tiga Vs Evil Tiga kind of Diorama scene. (When they both jump up into the air and does the final blow)

The original release of Godzilla is around 15.24 cm tall, which makes it 1/656 scale. Best to use 1/650 or 1/700 scale with it
In general, most MonsterArts figures scale well with the first release, so a 1/700 or1/650 scale should look decent with them as well.
Burning Godzilla and the vs. Destroyah cast are on a slightly larger scale, however. 1/650 should be the minimum scale for this group.
Godzilla 1964 is actually on a larger scale, despite his smaller size. Go for 1/350 if it's available. What's interesting to note is that this makes G'64 the only MonsterArts figure in scale with Neca's 24" Godzilla.
Godzilla 2000 works best on a scale from 1/400 to 1/350.
Kiryu is on a scale of 1/350 and over.
G'14 is on a 1/700 or at the most, 1/650 scale, putting it in rough scale with the earlier MonsterArts figures.
Hope this helps.

I use Ruinscape for my dioramas and photos. The company also does Cityscape which has a non-battle appearance. Cityscape is sold out currently and who knows when they are get more in. Ruinscape is still available but even that one is becoming scarce.JoeJai wrote:Any tips on which scale to get for Ultra-Act Series?
