Yah, one of the reasons I think they may have upped the head size a little...

Edwards' maquette was made BEFORE post-production, no doubt, & the producers etc. may have decided to increase the head size some.

No queston the statue with Edwards is not 100% the final proportions.

Probably closest angle ot match.

And just look at his head size here.

I'm sure for al the work sculpting takes, they probably said, ok, this design has all the details we really like, let's stop sculpting it and scan it into the software and polish it up from here. When you compare that maquette to the ones at the Encounter, clearly it was a process just to even get to this, even if the proportions weren't all there, the overall look was finally nailed down.

^ Exactly. After they scanned it into the computer, they tweaked the head a bit. Good choice too - Edwards & Co. knew what they were doing...

Nice. I'd assume we'll start seeing at the very end of April and early May. :D

According to the shipping calender, they're shipping on the day of the movie - May 16th.

I can't wait to go see the movie and come home to nothing to expand my experience with.
At least some of you found the Bandai toys already.

I guess the other NECA stuff would come out at that time. Week after May 16 seems to be the new embargo date, with the mass-release Jakks figure coming out then too.

A general question for those with the knowledge. Why does NECA have some sort of quality stigma? Are they known for sub par quality control? Sloppy paint? Poor plastic, all three?

This NECA Godzilla (one of them) will be my first NECA purchase.

Their pacific rim jaegers have had real problems especially their striker. It fell apart in the box for some people and had a lot of problems.

what about the kaiju? I'd imagine that's the strongest correlation in terms of joint tolerance, assembly, etc.

^People seem to have most the trouble with thinner figures and Aliens or PR mechas breaking.
Solid, thicker ones like kajius or less likely to break.

^ Doesn't sound like Godzilla will be a problem, then. If they do the Muto( s ), could be... :freak:

I've had no problems with NECA toys.

They have sold a lot of great Godzilla merchandise over the past. 12 Gigan, Kiyru, Godzilla, Final Wars Godzilla, Rainbow Mothra, and so forth.
Come fourth, Ghidorah! Great Golden Winged Destroyer; deliver onto us a beautiful demise!
