If not for alcohol, I might not have Biollante now.

The 8" bandai figures are what got me into being a serious collector. I bought my first figure in 1991 (Mechagodzilla). Earlier this year I took a substantial step in completing my tagged bandai showa 8" scale collection. I'm only missing 1 figure. The multiple figures are their respective tag variants. Some of the figures I bought when I was younger and cut off the tag (but kept it) but then I suddenly had the urge to keep the tag attached after those initial figurs. One figure (kamacuras) I bought with tag unattached.

(Baragon is to the immediate left of mogera)

(baragon is again obscured...this time behind gorosaurus. The bunched up plastic bag is the one the king-goji came in when it was selling in stores.)

just need to track down 1 more figure...should be easy.

I don't know what it is leunames, but your collecion photos are always among my favorite. Something about your pics... they seem to have heart.

I see you managed to snag that gorgeous black Gigabrain Ghids. I'd say lucky but I know better than that! You should put "TK's resident King Ghidorah figure expert" in your signature, lol. And look at poor Spacegodzilla in the pic above. He was so depressed that he wasn't invited that he slugged down some beers! ;)

Btw, I never knew Kamacuras was so small....

i try to take clear and focused pics with various sources of light...i use a tri-pod for the camera...might be what makes the diff.

yes the gigabrain ghidorah i think is the best vinyl figure of the character ever released...so i had to buy the 3 variants released so far. as for the monsterarts...i had it in a package for about a month unopened...opened it last week, and the small size put me off at first but it's growing on me.

yeah i suppose i do have a lot of KGs actually haha.

Could be. I particularly loved your Ghidorah pics (and those flourescent Ghidorahs!!!)

I agree. Nothing even comes close. I would love to get my hands on the black variant, but it seems like that's not in the cards :(.

That's what she said. In all seriousness they should've made this line 7 inch scale. Or at least 6.5" (like Ultra Act). Oh wells, I still loves 'em.

Is he your "focus"? Or is your collection just that big?

My collection has quite grown since January. While it pales to a lot of other collections here, it's not bad, considering I only started collecting back in January.

Pretty nice collection for 6 months worth of work, kudos. Always liked that SpaceGodzilla and theater Megaguirus.

Nice stuff, Destroyer. Seeing other people's stuff reminds me that my collection is somewhat weak in the Bandai department. I see a lot of figures there I don't have but need!!

For me, I grew up collecting nothing but Bandai's vinyls - primarily the 6" figures and Millennium 8" figures.

However, now I am taking my collecting much more seriously with the more pricier items such as X-Plus's Toho Large Monsters Series and Toho 30cm Series, and Tamashii Nations' SH MonsterArts and Ultra-Act. With that I stopped buying Bandai's vinyls - with a few exceptions for the more vintage items that I come across. Personally I want to have adult appropriate collectibles (like X-Plus' vinyls) rather than items that are originally intended as children's toys (Bandai's six inch vinyls). That's just my opinion though.

I do admit, the Bandais do bring back a lot of good memories for when I first started out collecting. Those were simpler times. XD
I only kept a few out of the ones I sold. They are the Theater Exclusive Godzilla 2000, the Toy's Dream Project Godzilla 1975 and Titanosaurus, Godzilla 1968, Hedorah, and Jet Jaguar. I found those figures to the more unique. I would've kept my MechaGodzilla 1975, but since I have the Chogokin (to go with my Toy's Dream Project Goji and Titano), I sold it.

As someone with a collection that includes Bandai vinyls as it's cornerstone, I resent the insinuation that those who primarily collect Bandai vinyls to not be taking collecting seriously by buying toys not meant for adults. But that's just me.
