GODZILLA2877, having kids doesn't always mean a collection is doomed, and some things are more valuable to people than having figures, plus there are way more things than just having kids that may require a collection to be sold off. Don't be insensitive to ones personal life either; there are many other joys to life other than collection pieces of vinyl and plastic shaped and painted to be reminiscent of a fictional character.

Ya I didn't want to get rid of part of my collection but when you live in a two bedroom condo with a wife and a newborn it really just comes out of necessity. One day when we move up to 3 bedroom I'll get more going. One thing that did help me though was getting rid of the X Plus boxes. I figured there are certain figures I am never going to sell (Saka 91, G64, Hedorah) so I figured why keep taking up so much self space? I cut em down. Felt so empowering lol.

Same here. My wife doesn't share my interest in this kind of stuff, but doesn't restrict me either. I'm happy with how it all works that way.

I sell parts of my collection all the time. I'm not married, I live on my own. Space, money, or whatever can come into play and require you to sell stuff.

This or just changing interest. I have sold hundreds of my figures over the years, just because I didn't feel as affiliated with them items as I did when buying them. There simply are those "well, I don't need this one anymore, I'll sell it to another collector and use the space it leaves for new stuff"-times. There are, however, many figures I could never ever even think of selling.

I am trying to think of new ways to reorganize my shelves. They easily clutter and it sucks that I cannot showcase them all properly. I have organized them chronologically, by heroes and villains, oldest to newest, etc. Some of my large figures are difficult to fit on the shelves with the rest so that may limit some of the ways I display them. Hope you all enjoy the pics!

Mostly X-Plus Toho figures, die cast ships and vehicles from many TV series of the 60's made by Gerry Anderson like Thunderbirds, Captain Scarlet, UFO
Universal's monsters, Christopher Lee and Peter Cushing from the Hammer 1958 Dracula, Aliens and Predator and more.
