What's your favourite figure size?

Postby Green Blockhead » Sat Sep 11, 2010 10:13 am

It's very hard to get Godzilla figures for myself because of size. I got the Tokyo SOS 6 piece set, the one that includes Godzilla 2003, Kiryu, Mothra, Mothra Larva x2 and Shrigrasi whatever that plane is.

Godzilla and Mechagodzilla are 4" tall, I think. Or 3.5.

Since they are my first figures, my favourite size is 4" tall, or 3.5.

But unfortunately, the size is rare to find in Godzilla.

So, in inches, what is your favourite size? I think 6" is very popular.

6" is very popular because that's the only size most people can afford right now.

Myself, I like 8" to 10". And wow, that sounds dirty.

Gotta go with Legion on this one. Between the 8" Bandai series and the Marmits in the 8"-10" range, these are easy my favorite sized figures.

6-inch.

Most widespread/plentiful scale. Easier to use in movies, too.

6 inch since it's more common in all the figures in Bandai but I also like the 8 inch figures from Tokyo S.O.S like Goji and Kiryu which I have only 8 inch figures I have the rest are 4-6 inch. The only big figure I have is the 10 inch Trendmasters Godzilla in my collection. Plus 6 inch doesn't take up alot of space like all the other big figures makes you get more room on your shelf :D

I wish there was a 4" tall Gigan, apart from the Ultimate Monsters trading figures that are not articulated.

8" when bandai was still making them. 10"-12" now that those are what's available, and because it's awesome.

14" cause the large scale marmit figures look awesome

20"-24" because when I was younger I would have dreams of walking into a Godzilla store and finding a 24" scale Destroyah. Also some of the coolest model kits are in that scale.

Anyone ever have/own/seen the 1 meter tall Godzilla from Kaiyodo? I talked with someone who had it and they said the largest back fin was larger than their dog :)

I love larger size figures, so I am all for the 10 inch and larger. I am currently working on as full a set of Godzillas in 12 inch as I can get. HARD to do, but fun! But since smaller ones are more available, and more affordable, I can see their popularity.

A one-worded post counts as Spam here. So I put that sentence to make sure that the admins don't say Do not spam. Because I really diden't.

Everyone favours price. Goji figures have to be at least a resonable price. But I mostly favour size. Who wants a 10" monster to play with against a 6" monster? It looks unrealistic and stupid.

That's why it's so hard for me to find figures. It is most sensible to have figures of the same size. I don't mind my 9" King Ghidorah being bigger than all my other figures. Infact, he was much bigger than Godzilla in GvKG '91. So already, that's realistic.

Try scaling a 12 inch/30 cm size group! Tough!
Looking forward to X-Plus doing a Ghidorah in their 30cm scale series for just such a reason. I guess if you can stick to a scale of figures and they repro them properly scaled, you can do that. I've had to mix and match to get scales about right before. Not easy to do.

While the 9" scale is my preferred in itself, I only collect 6" since it's cheaper.
