Baltan is a cool figure and a favorite, but I personally think it falls a tad short compared to other Ultra and Kaiju figures in this line.

^This is the most sincere and apologetic, "Why?", I can convey in type-speak, but I truly am asking, why? He's admittedly one of my first U-A figures, but he, for a humanoid design, hasn't suffered any of the weak joints or even any QC issues that I'm aware of. I mean, he's got far heavier "hands" than my Hayata but Baltan's arms don't ever sag at all. For what he is, and if you are interested in a poseable Baltan figure, he's pretty dang good.

That's true. As far as QC, Baltan is very good.

However for some reason my figure's joints are quite stiffer than usual, and posing him has been somewhat troubling, unlike my other Ultra figures. Perhaps when I return home in August, I'll play around with him more to loosen the joints and allow him to be posed more dynamically. Perhaps it is time for me to purchase Tamashii Stands and grips...

I'm actually quite interested if the Baltan I sculpt is ever released along with its holograms. The prototype images for it were just killer.

^Nice review!^

Golza's sculpt is pretty amazing, and the UA line captured the look of the character very well! Definitely one of my favorites!

Golza is a perfect example of why we need more kaiju in the line and not just as a web exclusive!

Golza looks like a truly fantastic figure. Too bad his prices are way up there generally.

I'm surprised Tamashii hasn't repainted this into an Ultra-Act Fire Golza. Would anybody buy a Fire Golza if it was a normal mass retail release?

Yeah, I remember seeing pics of that version of Gomora a while back. I'm surprised Tamashii never pulled the trigger on that or the Baltan I.

Is anyone on the fence about Ultra-Act Ultraman Dyna? Perhaps this review will help you decide: http://importingmonsters.blogspot.com/2 ... na-by.html

"So lately I've noticed something... The pre-ordering for Zoffy, Ultraman (2nd release,) and Gridman have been halted from being released.

I've been skimming some other toku forums about why the releases for some of the characters being halted is because of licensing problems. Apparently, not ALL the issues have been settled between Tsuburaya and Chaiyo Productions and so until then, it seems some of the figures' releases will be in limbo for quite some time. If not, for good.

I hope this is not the case for some figures, I hope they do release Ace Killer and Alien Baltan for this series"

This line's got some serious trouble if the legal problems keep them from doing anything Chaiyo laid claim to. That includes almost all of the Showa series! All the upcoming Ultra Brothers would have to be cancelled!
I was seriously looking forward to that Ultraman...

I heard that it just has to do with the distribution rights overseas. I'm not too worried about it, since I order from Japanese sites.

Considering how quick Zoffy dropped out and that both HLJ and CSToys have no pages for Ultraman 2.0 and Ace, I dunno about that.
It'd be really stupid if we had to go through a proxy to get any of the normal releases.

Even though we're only seeing a minimal amount of Ultra-Act presence at SDCC, Tamashii Nations has their new Ultra-Act display set up at the Akiba Showroom.

Looks like they're promoting the updated Ultraman 2.0 body, by showing off the poseability.

I'm becoming more convinced the Ultraseven figure is sporting the newer body type in that display.

I love how they're recreating all the poses from this promo shot:

Except Ultraseven's crossed arms...still the hurdle their engineers can't get past...

And yeah, it's almost impossible to tell if this is a new body-type for U7 or just the old mold doctored to hold the mantle. Every time I want to say, "yes, that is a new sculpt" some detail stands out or I check it against my figure and realize that jeez...just can't quite tell from the photos.
