I remember that some of you were interested in that BIG Anime Godzilla. Was it 20 inches tall? Then it is up for pre-order at BBTS for $300...

I'm tempted but for that price the features look too soft for me. I'd rather see crisp details for $300

I have to say guys, the 2019 Godzilla (normal version) has metallic blue fins but in person they look absolutely stunning, far better than pictures can show. And in darker light they take on this gorgeous ocean green colour.

100%, fantastic figure. The charcoal black to lightning blue is such a gorgeous contrast.

So I just recently got this guy for a cool 50 bucks. The seller said it was from the Memorial Box, but is it the 50th Anniversary Memorial Box or a different one?

That is from the 40th Anniversary Memorial Box. The 50th Anniversary Anguirus is black and white

Ah, Gotcha. Well, a Memorial Box Anguirus is still a Memorial Box Anguirus! I absolutely adore his silver paint apps.

My favorite bandai vinyls in years are the Anime Ghidorah and new Gigan. Ghidorah especially looks so good in person, not at all like a banana noodle.

I agree but it's so frustrating how it can't stand or be displayed properly. I literally have it just riding on top of KOTM Ghidorah.

I don't have many vinyls but my favourites out of the ones I have are KOTM Godzilla, BC Mechagodzilla and 70's Godzilla, and in terms of looks, Spacegodzilla.

Is the 40th memorial box Anguirus the same size as the 50th? I thought I read that the 89 sculpt was 8 inch scale and the 98 and onward was 6 inch scale.

Nope, the 50th one is the smaller 6" scale version of the mold.

Thanks. Do you know of any comparison pics out there of the 2 sizes together?

Unfortunately I do not and my DuckDuckGo-fu isn't really helping out either. They're fairly common molds so I'm sure someone here could maybe help. I'd take one myself but I only own the 8" one.

Any idea how many inches long the 40th anniversary/8 inch scale versions are? I am trying to get a feel for the size difference between the older and newer versions. The sculpts look basically identical to my eye.

So from what I can tell the Anguirus Godzilla Island Monster, Toho Kaiju, MMS, and 50th are all 6 inch scale. Anguirus Godzilla collection 89 and 92, and 40th box are 8 inch scale. Does that sound right?

My Bandai 92 Anguirus is about 10" or so long? Could be off on that, I used the Measure app on my iPhone to see.

Yep! You can also tell the difference by the type of vinyl. The 8" versions will be made of glossy hard vinyl and the 6" ones will be made of a softer, matte vinyl.

Pics of MMS Geigen2004 and Anguirus2004 are up at HLJ - and they ARE available for purchase. Anguirus looks about as you'd expect, face paint aps are very sharp, hope they look that good on the production vinyls. Geigan looks amazing! We knew that from the chest down, he'd be mostly black, but his head/back spines are black as well, and the red on his wings is a dark ruby color, which looks great! Can't wait to get 'em in-hand...
