Looking for a way to stiffen the very soft wings on the McFarlane Viserion figure. They made them translucent and thin, but they're also large and pretty soft. They're super nice, they just bow and sag when posed in the wings-out pose that I would like to have the figure displayed in.

When the figure came out of the box, the wings were pretty straight, as seen here.

... but they've begun to sag pretty quickly, creating a very noticeable curvature...

With a little hair dryer action, they can be straightened right back up, but of course that is a very temporary fix.

Any ideas on a more permanent fix for this issue? I thought about cutting a groove along the main wing bones and adding a wire/spar, but I'd really like to try and find something I can do without cutting the figure. Anyone have experience with such things?

This is a Custom 2017 Skull Island Kong figure I did about a year ago (first time using Apoxie Sculpt). I feel like he scales pretty well with Godzilla, I still need to resculpt some fur on him at some point though

Would you guys be cool if this was the scale for Godzilla vs Kong in the 2020 film?

I used a NECA Caesar as the base then completely resculpted certain sections as well as the entire head

Apple barrel is what I’ve used too, but the paint always rubs off super easy. Any ideas?

Use multiple coats. Will help with durability. Or you could mix a small amount of Elmer’s Glue In with the paint. That will make it a little more Durable as well.

And if you really want solid results, use a sealant.

I painted this guy a couple of days ago using acrylics. I gave him his film-accurate color palette......

Since I posted the Spino here, I figured I'd keep track of my customs on here. I much prefer the dusty tan color over the blackish grey of G14, but both fit their respective designs perfectly.

Any tips from you experts about applying washes? I’ve been fiddling around with repainting the Neca G’19. I got the eyes just how I want them and repainted the gums, but I screwed up on the gums and had to repaint the entire face. I’m looking to get it back to the original look, minus the Dollar Store eyes and Deliverance teeth.

You'd have to blend the body color with the head and neck. so I'd do a base coat of whatever color you like best, then applying a watery wash of a darker color such as black to get all in between the crevices. Afterwards you could hit it with a dry brushing, to really solidify the finished product.

Anyone here happen to have experience with resin kits? I got one recently and managed to chip away at some of the excess with some nippers, but there are still some parts that could use some shaving. I've heard sandpaper's one way of shaving off the resin, but I'm not 100% on that.

Thanks! I’ll give it another go.
