Not looking at the necks, are you?

The figure does look great, don't get me wrong, but there's something I can't put my finger on.... :?

Yes I was. The underside of the necks is a pretty minor detail in my book. I think he looks fantastic.

Was difficult at first (it seems like a prerequisite for all KG figures  ), but a hair dryer did the trick, and after that they snapped into place rather easily. They weren't quite as difficult as I remember the wings of Bandai's Grand KG being...

Well, there's a nice little trick with the BANDAI Grand ing Ghidorah's wings... ;)
But you only get to know when you got him w/box AND the tiny white instruction paper still within. You just need to press the upper side of the wing joints to the inside with force so that you get the mid outer part compressed to form a sharp edge. Then you can easily slip the wings far into the back. It just pops back out when you release it, holding itself perfectly in place! :D
Size DOES matter!

Big KG arrived today, my first and likely last gigabrain. No regrets at all on price, a gorgeous quality figure. Also, following the included instructions, the wings were a snap to attach!

To be honest, just looking at the pics here, none of them jump off the page to me. If I run across one in person or see some really great shots of one for sale who knows? But I wont be chasing down any.

I am mainly an x-plus guy right now, but splurged on this and the black marmit kg (as you well know!)

Pilot ace also has some moments for me, but nothing that has made me want to go hunting.

Hoping kaiju no mura keeps tempting me though...I did want to pick up that ccp gamera 3, anyone get that?

I see what you're saying. I love both lines. And the fact that they're such different and distinct approaches makes me appreciate them more individually. Still, understandable.

Fantastic variant, but don't sleep on the original version. It is really something else, movie accurate enough for those who want that, designer quirks and pure quality all around.

Also is it possible to reverse my earlier position...g62 and g64 are beginning to tempt. In particular that sleek gloss version of the 64 ebirahsmeg1 has been showing off...

You mean this bad boy on the left? 8-)

It's a real shame that he's back home with most of my collection in America...I would *LOVE* to pose him with the KG figure. I am still looking for the Black/Gold dorsal fins variant...

ah I knew I forgot to post them somewhere. Good looks.

The mosu-goji used to be my favorite gigabrain sculpt. KG now owns that ranking in my view, by far. Been slacking a bit with gigabrain though as I've concentrated more on acquiring pilot ace and MH figures over the years. I've only got the mosu-goji, gigan, and KG molds from gigabrain (and godzilla 65 came in on Monday, making 4). But I love the KG a lot...I think I'm going for the other variants as well.

You know, it's funny, but awhile ago in the Xplus thread, I mentioned that Xplus would be very hard to top this GB figure. In response, Brad Simmons told me that he didn't think the GB King Ghidorah was all that great because it was just a retooling of the original Bandai 8 inch KG ( :eh: :-? "HUH?" was my and several other people's reaction). Now that we have seen your KG group photo which has the Bandai and GB figures together, I wonder if he still holds this viewoint? :huge:
